My husband and I took a day trip from Gastonia, NC to Lake Lure/Blowing Rock on Saturday. Medina's had been recommended as a good place for lunch. Good is an understatement! We sat on the front porch with a great view of Chimney Rock across the street. It was partly cloudy that day, as you can see from the photos. The photo of the flower box didn't catch what I was trying to show. In addition to the petunias, there are fresh herbs! Chives, mint, and a variety of others. The special of the day was shepherd's pie, something we were told the chef had "just thrown together". My husband had a club sandwich with house-made pasta salad. For dessert we splurged on bread pudding made with their house-made cinnamon buns. Every bite was a delight! From the main course to the dessert, to the friendly service and fabulous view, this is THE PLACE to try next time you're in Chimney Rock! They're open from breakfast through dinner. They exemplify the distinct difference between "cooks" and true CHEFS! We'll definitely return next time we're in the "neighborhood"! Heck, we'll make a special trip centered around this restaurant!
