Food was well done overall, and the atmosphere (dining on the patio) was hard to beat. Service was slow (owing to the kitchen and undermanned wait staff) but very nice and solicitous, so we did not mind. Felt like the kitchen was trying a bit too hard to be fancy (shrimp and grits was good but the sauce was too over the top) and would be better off taking things down a notch and maybe reducing the prices a bit. Good ingredients and inspiration overall, though. We really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely go back. If you're staying at the inn you should definitely eat there.
