We recently stayed at Morning Glory Inn in Clayton, NC, for several days and had a wonderful experience. Betsy, the owner, was very nice and accommodating. She went out of her way to make sure that everything was perfect during our stay. The breakfasts were really delicious, and different each day. Apple pancakes, stuffed french toast, pecan caramel sticky buns, homemade scones--all of it was fantastic.
The king size mattress was very high quality and made for pure sleeping pleasure. We stayed in the Sunflower room, which was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We would highly recommend a stay at Morning Glory Inn. It's a great value and a wonderful experience. We were also pleased that it was a reasonable drive to Seymour Johnson AFB and military discounts are offered.

A LONG way south of Stockbridge, MA, but this was vintage Norman Rockwell.... maybe he visited!! If he did, its one of the few things that the wonderfully hospitable hostess Betsy didn't tell us in early-December. Quiet, but just off Main Street, the wrap-around porch house had an absolutely fabulous feel. Genuine warmth. Felt like a step back in time. Grand central staircase led up to the (six?) rooms. Ours was very spacious (bathroom a bit small, but not a factor) with THE most comfortable bed, omg!! Both of us slept like the proverbial logs each night. Breakfast - completely different each morning - began with fruit, then healthy cereal, homemade baked treasures (cranberry scones were outrageous), and a creative hot egg dish.... later in the day, the guest kitchen offered a 'life-saving' cup of tea (with extra scones Betsy gave us that morning)...

And - everything was insanely clean.... if I'd dropped a scone, no problem!

Oh - area hotel/motels were about $15-20 less - are you KIDDING me?!?! Not worth a second thought!

We're fixin' to go visit Betsy again soon, y'all...

Room Tip: Just call Betsy and ask her what's available. Room location really doesn't make a difference...

We stayed for a one night getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay. One excellent ammenity is the "guest kitchen" with snacks; drinks, and a fridge. We would recommend the owner's restaurant as well (Clayton Steak House).

What a wonderful experience we had at this lovely B&B. The hosts were accommodating and friendly. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. The breakfasts were outstanding. The guest kitchen was such a nice convenience. It was an easy commute to the convention center in Raleigh and so nice to escape the city at the end of the day.
