Unfortunately, due to weather conditions, this winery only had two wines to sample. But they more than made up for it with pleasant conversation and delicious wine-based foods. During our tasting, Mr. Pack, the owner showed up and engaged us in conversation about wines in the area, foods and restaurants in California, and a bunch of other great information. He is very knowledgeable about foods and wines. Proof of that is the delicious foods that he makes out of wines. We were delighted to taste his sauce that is accompanied by shrimp, his wine-infused popcorn, and this to-die-for cake and ice cream (both made from wine!!) What they lack in wine selection, they make up in interesting foods!!

We arrived after lunch and were treated to a wonderfully cool and welcoming place. The scenery is limited to close-by vines but the facility is incredible for entertaining and group parties. The Chardonnay was very good and paired with great tasting samples of grapes, crackers, cheeses, shrimp and the owners special dipping sauce, a must buy! The Merlot was preceded by a house fudge cube that was luxurious and followed by a chocolate/wine ice-cream that simply must be experienced! Oh, the Merlot was also very good. It was very hot and a vineyard tour was not offered but the owner and hostess were both personable and friendly.

A pleasant stop on the Tryon valley wine trail. While the wine available for tasting on our visit was ok, it was the winemaker himself that made the visit worthwhile. Will be back in the late spring to try the red Chardonnay.

We have visited the winery on two separate occasions and enjoyed ourselves both times. I recommend sampling the wine and asking the owner for a golf cart tour of the vineyard. He is very friendly and informative. Make a day of it and visit the other two local wineries as well.
