Our truck was broken at Great Wolf and when talking to mangement this is an on going problem. We feel that Great Wolf needs to address this matter by installing camera's or installing a gated fence for there customers. I would like to also say the rooms are really nice and clean there and beds sleep great! The breakfast buffet is awful and way over priced (It cost 80.00 for 4 adults and 1 child to eat)! The food is cold and not fit to eat and $2.00 for a cup of coffee let's get real now!

I am disappointed to hear about the issues you experienced at your recent trip to Great Wolf Lodge. During this time, hotels around Charlotte were experiencing a rash of break-ins. As a result, we have security patrolling the property at night to be sure this does not happen again.

I see that you discussed the issues with management and that things appeared to be resolved on your trip. If this is not the case, please feel free to contact us directly at -------------

I’m glad that you found your room to be nice and clean, but I know that this might be overshadowed by other negative aspects of your stay.

Please accept my apology on behalf of the resort. I hope that you and your family will visit us again in the future.

Best Wishes,
Phillip Cunningham

we stayed two nights in late august here in a normal family suite room with two double beds and a pull out sofa. The rooms are very comfortable and large. We had a room on the fourth floor, which had excellent high vaulted ceilings. In the room they have a good size fridge, microwave and large recycling bin. We all loved the water park. Inside the water park, they have a small kiddie area, which is fenced off from ft mackenzie and the wave pool.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone. We loved it and already made a reservation for a return in February. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfy.

The food here is reasonably priced, but it can add up. They have a Dunkin doughnuts on the main floor. Love that they use biodegradable plates and cutlery for take out.

Room Tip: on their website they have promo codes listed in their specials

This was our first trip to a Great Wolf Lodge with our 6 and 4 year old. We received a complimentary upgrade to a room with bunk beds upon arrival. We purposefully went mid-week to avoid the crowds. We found the room and waterpark to be very well maintained and clean. The kids had a great time and we always felt safe with the lifeguards present.
We didn't do any of the hotel amenities other than the waterpark. There are plenty of restaurants located with very close proximity to the hotel, so we just brought snacks for breakfast and then either went out or got take out. The room had a refrigerator. Our mattress was a bit uncomfortable, but we were too tired to notice.
Overall, a great stay and we will definitely be back.

Room Tip: We asked for a first floor room facing the parking lot for easy access to the car out the sliding gl...

The massive footprint of this resort is astonishing as you first drive up. The staff was very helpful when asked questions. We reserved a KidKamp room and our 2 kids were thrilled. The rooms were clean and did not have a musty smell from the water park.
I will say the Lodge is a bit chaotic, there are kids running around with wands for the Magic Quest attraction (your just waiting for one to trip and impale themselves on it). The lobby was very crowded at nearly all times of the day. The water park is well monitored and kept in good condition (staff on constantly tidying up, straightening chairs, etc).
Biggest negative comment is that aside from the waterpark, everything else will cost you more... MagicQuest, putt putt golf, trampoline, all additional costs. This trip can be costly but it does make a great family get away.

Room Tip: watch for sales

I am glad to see that you and your family had a fairly positive stay at Great Wolf Lodge. We pride ourselves on the massive footprint you speak of, striving to offer all aspects of a family vacation under one roof. Not to mention our rather large indoor waterpark.

As for price, I’m sorry you did not find the Lodge to be of great value. Typically, a two night stay in our lodge is comparable to four single day tickets to a regional theme park or one two-day pass to a popular Orlando attraction. Even though all amenities are not included in the room rate, we do hear from our guests that they find a Great Wolf Lodge stay to be a good value. I apologize that this was not that case for your trip.

Our website does now offer a “Flexible with your dates” option so that you can play around with your stay dates until you find a more economical option for your family.

Thank you for the honest review, and I hope that your family will join us again.

Kind Regards,
Phillip Cunningham

We went there with our 5 year old and 1 year old and had a fantastic time. We were able to check in a few hours early, our room was extremely clean and it wasn't crowded at all. We went in April so the outdoor part wasn't open yet but that was completely fine. There was certainly enough to keep us busy for the 2 1/2 days we were there. We were on the bottom floor so we didn't have a balcony but I was grateful that we weren't on any of the Magiquest floors. It was extremely quiet and convenient to the water park and arcade. I felt like the arcade and mini golf were reasonable priced and while the food was slightly expensive, it was worth it to not have to leave the lodge. We brought in food for breakfast and ate lunch and dinners there. I would definitely recommend the pup or paw passes for the kids. It was definitely worth it and was very convenient. My only complaint is that the beds are extremely uncomfortable and my husband switched between the bed, sofa bed and the other bunk bed all night long. Other than that, we had a perfect vacation and my daughter ended up crying most of the way home because she wanted to go back so bad.

First, let me start with a negative. This location DOES NOT have a lazy river despite the pictures on the internet. We were quite bummed about this. Also, the lifeguards seemed rather unenthusiastic about their jobs...a smile and eye contact wouldn't hurt them, even if they're focused on their job. Morale in the lifeguard area seemed low.

Now, the front desk staff, First Class. Cub Club staff...First Class. We stayed in a Luxury King Suite and it was super clean, very cozy, and having the separate living area was great for when our boy went to sleep at 7 pm...of course the balcony porch was also great for that purpose too. My only complaint about the room is that the fan in the bathroom was very loud and it wasn't very relaxing while trying to take a bath. All rooms have a mini-fridge and a microwave, which makes it VERY convenient for families traveling on a budget. The hotel restaurant was great, but as you would expect, pricey. In fact, most everything was pricey, but it's the price of convenience and fun.

As for location, VERY fun. There is a wonderful mall and LOTS, LOTS, LOTS of shopping and good, quality restaurants in the area. If you like Harley Davidsons, the you'll LOVE the fact that there is an awesome dealership right next door! (Not to worry about the sound, though...this place is so very quite.) Do a search for things to do in Concord and you'll discover, this lodge is located in a jackpot!

Note, we came during non-peak time and virtually had the place to ourself (26% occupancy first night, 8% second night.) I'm not sure we would have enjoyed it as much if we were here on the weekends, because it's easy to tell that this place gets crazy with people running around everywhere and lines for the slide would probably be rather long. The trade off for non-peak time is that the water park is opened for two hours less and the game room is closed most of the afternoon. That said, it's soooo worth the discount room rate if you can get off during the week.

There is NO DOUBT that families with kiddos would love this place. I'm sure even families with teens would have a great time. Be prepared to spend some money...save up and pay cash. Don't go into debt, because you want to return home with the gifts and memories, not the looming credit card bill. (Thanks, Dave Ramsey!)

Room Tip: Pros: microwaves, mini-fridge, plush bedding, excellent ac/heat unit

Our 5th GWL location and probably the best. The indoor water park has less activities than others but we go for the big water slides vs lazy river. On site restaurant was ok but expensive, same as all the other GWL's. What was different at this location is that there were plenty of local eateries close by. Fast food to fine dining. Local attractions are great if you enjoy NASCAR. Employees at location were very nice and pleasent. Outdoor pool was great. If your inclined to visit the poolside bar, Thomas is a great bartender and a racer. Hotel, facilities and grounds were clean and well maintained.
