“a delightful home away from home in the middle of it all”
Reviewed 26 July 2010

The Kings Daughters Inn is an elegantly appointed, locally owned inn within walking distance of Duke University East Campus and many restaurants. Deanna and Colin have created a beautiful inn that is warm, welcoming and relaxing. The rooms are lovely, the breakfast delicious, and all in all a 10 out of 10. I really loved the locally made all natural eco-friendly soaps and shampoos etc. Whether you are coming from out of town, or just having a staycation, trust the KDI to treat you like a king (or the daughter of one)!

The King's Daughters Inn is a completely incredible and amazing place to stay! The rooms are really beautiful, utterly clean (absolutely spotless), superbly elegant and really modern (the work done to allow you to use the TV as a computer monitor while sitting on your bed is outstanding!).

The staff was very very sweet (and super gay-friendly!) -- they offered to check us in much earlier than the check-in time without any hassles whatsoever. Breakfast was wonderful and served in the room (if we so chose it!)!

Would LOVE to go back here!

The suite was perfect for our family of four, and the service for an inn full of out of town guests in Durham for a family event was truly impressive. Large room in basement for party or events, and ample hallways for toddlers to roam. Easy walking distance to restaurants, ice cream, Satisfaction pizza, Whole Foods, and Duke's East Campus is directly across the street.

This Inn was a lovely surprise! I had to cancel my bachelorette spa weekend to fly to Durham for a job interview but staying at this charming inn made me forget all about the stresses of the interview process and upcoming wedding! I was able to relax in the incredibly comfortable bed with the delicious truffles and glass of port delivered with turn-down service. The suite was huge and the decor was truly lovely. I am excited to recommend this place to friends and family when they visit Durham.

We spent a night at the King's Daughter Inn and it was perfect getaway. The staff were warm and attentive. The room was beautifully decorated with a lush bed. The exquisite breakfast and sun porch in the morning capped off a great visit. I highly recommend.

My Mom and I stayed at KDI the evening of Mother's Day and it was awesome! We booked the Trinity Suite for the Sun Porch area so we would have a place to have quality time in the afternoon and have our wine and read. The location is appx. 3 blocks from Brightleaf Square and very comfortable walk through a residential area with gorgeous historic homes and then the rest of the way are small pubs and nightlife. The staff was wonderful and helped with dining suggestions even printing off the menu for us to decide. Breakfast was delightful with homemade granola, fruit, yogurt, made to order eggs, bacon or chicken sausage. Served in the gorgeous dining room. The property is immaculate and on eof the cleanest places we have ever stayed. We will return and already have surprise plan in the works for a Christmas or birthday present for Mom! Thanks for a great 24 hours and for having the vision and know how to create a unique, but comfortable home away from home! It is very special!

I stayed at the King's Daughters Inn over a weekend in February and enjoyed every minute of their hospitality. The rooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated. The breakfasts were enjoyable and the location superb. The only thing that could be easily improved were the hanging wires from the back of the wall-mounted TV to the outlet. It is an easy thing to hide them away and I'm surprised the owners let them hang there. I would not hesitate to recommend this Inn over any other Durham hotel. You won't be disappointed.

PS. It's worth calling the Inn to get their AAA rate.
