Review of Pad Thai

Pad Thai
Ranked #229 of 782 Restaurants in Durham
Cuisines: Thai
Description: Wanting a tasty, inexpensive dinner, we chose Pad Thai. The two dishes we chose were the Massaman Curry and the Basil Fried Rice with chicken. Both were excellent. The basil fried rice with chicken had a little bit of heat to it, but not to the degree I expected with the single chili pepper icon next to it on the menu. In any case, the dish as excellent and the value was terrific as the total bill, including tip and two soft drinks for two of us was $30. I'm concerned that they won't make it because there were only six people in the place when we left at 7:15 pm. That is a shame as it is cheap, clean, and the food is delicious.

We get takeout from Pad Thai at least once a month. We call ahead and our food is waiting for us when we get there, still very hot. Their menu is riddled with grammatical errors but the food is really good. Our favorites are their Tofu Pad See Eww and Basil Fried Rice. We have dined in a few times and they always put a fancy vegetable butterfly or flower on the side of the plate. The atmosphere is nothing special, but the people who work there are always very nice.

Authentic Thai food in a sort of tacky atmosphere, but it is delicious and the people who work here are so sweet!

It's a small place serving thai foods...the foods are great but a little bit pricey for most..they offer free wifi for costumers too! I love their pad woon sen noodle, it's a stir fry glass noodle with vegetables and meat of your choice..but you have to be patient though, there's just 1 server and may take some time before you get to order and get your food... But it's still great place to have if you're not ina hurry! Worth checkin out folks!

Wedged between a BBQ joint and a used car lot, a block off I-85, this unassuming little Thai food restaurant is a pleasant discovery for fans of this food. The interior is clean and simply decorated with Thai pictures and appointments. The single server was friendly and energetic, in blue jeans and t-shirt typical of this Southern college town, handling both table service and the frequent take-out patrons.

The menu offers a nice variety of Thai favorites. Our orders, the Pad Thai and the Beef with Broccoli were carefully prepared and the plate presentation was surprisingly artistic. The sauce of the simple Beef & Broccoli dish was exquisitely smoky. Dishes delivered to neighboring tables were so intriguing as to ensure that my wife and I will return soon to give them a try.

You must try the green papaya salad - if only because the ingredients are so unusual....green (unripe) papaya, beef jerky..... amazingly, it's very tasty! Otherwise, everything else we've tried has been delicious. Lots of good noodle dishes. Conveniently across the street from our favorite Durham hotel, the Holiday Inn Express.
