The server was very nice, did a good job and love the margueritas. Their salsa has a pretty good kick to it, unlike many mexican restaurants. It's located in a great section of downtown Durham so you can walk around after.

This Mexican restaurant is in the upscale Brightleaf Square shopping center. The prices like all other El Rodeo's is a good value. Had Spinach Quesadilla and is was chock full of veggies and better than average. However had to wait 10-15 minutes for the check which lowered the overall restaurant rating from very good to average. To give them a break it was a Sunday afternoon but still don't like waiting for the check. Fairly nice atmosphere but could use some updating. Worth a stop if you aren't in an hurry and want a good value while at Brightleaf Square.

My wife had a Speedy Gonazeles, taco, enchilada and beans. I had a chicken quesadilla with spinach and black beans. Everything was very tasty. We were in town for just the day, but would definitely return.

When craving a salsa, chips and margarita, El Rodeo is the place to go! The never ending salsa and chips are perfect. A bit of hotness and a lot of flavor! The top shelf margarita was generous in ingredients and delicious! I had an enchilada and a chili relleno. Both were delicious and accompanied by very good rice and beans. This is not a fancy place, no real ambiance per se, but it quenched my tex mex craving and did not pain my wallet!

good local Mexican. Avoid the cheese covered American stuff and get steak, shrimp al mojo de ajo, coctel de camaron, or some meat in a mexican sauce (colorado, adobado, etc.)
