The gardens on Duke's campus were incredible. Made for a great way to spend a couple of hours. We enjoyed our time. If you go in July, be prepared for the heat.

“Simply beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2014

What a wonderful place to stop and smell the roses! There are so many places within the gardens to wander, sit, reflect, or just enjoy the fine collection of labeled flora. Beautifully maintained, the gardens offer a wide variety of plantings from Asian to native species all beautifully landscaped. Parking is free Sunday mornings until 1pm and the gardens never requires admission.

“Beautiful Garden”

Beautiful and peaceful gardens even with the crowd of people. Unfortunately the Wisteria Pergola is under renovation but still lovely. The bog with the stepping stones was very serene.

“Lovely Gardens”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2014

The Sarah Duke Gardens is a community treasure, Duke University greatly maintains the 45 acre gardens and walking trails. It is a beautiful and peaceful way to spend a few hours. The gardens are divided into different areas so you can see it all or just pick and choose where to view. There are two parking areas with free parking on weekend mornings. There is a kiosk if you go when they charge for parking. There is no charge to view the gardens. There are great spots to take photos. If you are in the Durham area or just enjoy being in nature, Duke Gardens is a must see.
