The only reason I give it a 3 is because it has a bit of a smokey smell to me.

My friends and I go here to study before a test. I like it because they allow you to bring in outside drinks and food. No biggie.

There coffee is really good and it's less expensive than some other coffee shops. They have free wi-fi. The baristas are friendly. The atmosphere is cozy adn the music is funky.

It's kid friendly. They had a little kids play area in the back the last time I was there and a nice mural on the wall.

It's really close to Southpoint Mall.

Great coffee. Be sure to taste your drink before you leave so you know it suits your taste. They are very good about remaking your drink if it's not right. They also have nice mixed baked goods on the counter and a fab biscotti that is huge.

Bean traders has wifi (somewhat unreliable) and a good study space in the basement. All the drinks (except self-serve drip coffee) take FOREVER, and they only carry paper cups (I'm a fan of actual mugs, personally), but the outcome is great. There chai lattes are quite unique - they actually brew a chai teabag and then add the steamed milk.

Good location, expensive but only adequate coffee. Very Durham hippy feel, but the coffee doesn't pull its weight.

I went to Bean Trader's or a double espresso 5 mornings in a row while in Durham on business. I would give this place 5 stars for the quality of their pulls but they only serve them in paper cups. Don't see how a coffee bar with plenty of nice seating but not serving in china can be taken seriously. Too bad.
