We were recently visiting Elizabeth City for the first time, and Cypress Creek Grill came highly recommended by the owners of the B & B where we stayed. My husband and I both had the rockfish and crab special, which was well-prepared and delicious.
Our second night in town we returned with a friend from FL who is a native of Elizabeth City and still has a home there. The Cypress Creek Grill was her choice for dinner and she said the clam chowder was the best, and it was! Not a tomato or cream base, but more of a buttery broth. We also split an order of bacon-wrapped sea scallops which were fabulous. My husband had shrimp and grits which he said was excellent.
We were long-time Florida residents, and the seafood that we had at the Cypress Creek Grill is just as good as the finest we had in Florida. The prices were reasonable. The decor was rather plain, and the interior, brightly lit which gave it a casual feeling, the only reason I rated it very good instead of excellent overall.
