The hotel is very neat looking on the outside, and has a nice lobby with dark wood and fireplace. The staff that checked us in were very nice and helpful. The room itself was slightly disappointing. We stayed in a suite with a sitting area and kitchenette, the fridge was noisy, the dishwasher looked like it may fall out of the wall, the air conditioning unit was falling apart, there was a large stain on the carpet by the couch, not dirty just stained. The wallpaper was peeling and the carpet was frayed, and the "new fabulous bedding" they kept talking about was a letdown. The room was clean, just run down and in need of some renovations and elbow grease. All in all an average place to stay, our room was about $140 a night, which I thought was a lot since the place was about 20 minutes from Asheville, my advice is pay the extra $10 a night and stay at Renaissance downtown, well worth the extra money!

I had a great experience at the Hampton Inn in Fletcher. After travelling all day, it was great to drive half a mile from the airport to this hotel. It seems to be a newer hotel. The lobby is very nice with internet, the rooms were very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. For the price it was luxurious.

We booked this hotel for a one night stay - we were going to Asheville and to the Biltmore, and most of the hotels in town were either really expensive or totally booked. I think it was $98 after taxes.
We definitely enjoyed our brief stay. The lobby area is very very nice, the breakfast area is very attractive and clean. One negative - the breakfast is more a continental breakfast, they also have some other options, (the options when we were there were either pancakes or a sausage biscuit, which are stored in a fridge and you microwave them) - those were about like gas station food. Other Hamptons we've stayed in have an attendent and fresh cooked food, this one does not. It is a very well stocked continental breakfast though, fresh fruit, lots of cereals, bread/muffin/danish products, juice. The hot tub and pool areas both look very nice, though we didn't use them. I did use the fitness center, good news is there is one, it's got a treadmill, stair stepper and recumbent bike, and free weights. The equipment is vintage 1985 I think, but it's certainly functional. The room was very nice - completely standard hotel room, really nice comforters, and quite liked the shower. It's right across the highway (I-26) from the airport, so very accessible, but not so close that you hear planes. There are several food options in walking distance (Ruby Tuesdays, McDonalds, etc) and there's a huge cluster of big box stores across the street. Downtown Asheville is 15-20 minutes away, and parking is easy to find and not too expensive.
Would recommend.

This was a very nice hotel-like Hampton Inn with a beautiful lobby complete with a floor to ceiling fireplace, framed in dark wood.

Positives:
Very attractive lobby with fireplace and sitting area and computer for visitor use.
Attractive dining area for breakfast complete with glass-fronted dark wood cabinets and designer decorations. Kids enjoyed the pancakes and French toast to heat up.
Hotel-like carpeting throughout the hotel- felt like a Hyatt or Hilton.
Spacious suite with a nice-sized kitchen area, large t.v. in the living room, and smaller one in the bedroom. Pleasant decor of suite, especially the English floral prints, dark wood cabinets, and green marble-like formica countertops. Very comfortable bed with upscale sheeting and bedspread, and lapdesk to use in bed. Also nice curtains, valances and fabric shower curtain. Pleasant carpeting throughout suite.
Internet access.

Negatives:
Desk clerk who was quite attentive to two male customers, but asked this woman to wait (though later apologizied).
Hotel is as nice as a Hilton, but also priced like one. (almost $200 for a 2-room suite even with our AAA discount.)
View of a trailor court out our suite's window, although mountains are in the background.
O.K. continental breakfast and kids liked the "to heat up" pancakes, but hubby disliked the "processed" egg and bacon bagel. Residence Inns put on a much nicer breakfast with hot cooked (not pre-cooked) items.
Bathroom only access through the bedroom, so kids couldn't get to it without going through our room.
Paltry amount of shampoos, etc. for a suite that sleeps 4, but extras available for the asking at the front desk.

All in all, I would recommend this hotel if you're aware of the price (or get a better rate than we did) and if you have time to enjoy it and are not just passing through as we did. We would probably opt for a less luxerious surroundings and a better price if just passing through Asheville again, but would consider this hotel for a longer stay.

This was a very nice hotel. It is a Hampton with suites, which is where we prefer to stay since we have kids. The separate bedroom is nice because we can put them down at their regular bedtime, and we can stay up until ours!

The suite was very spacious. We've stayed in other chains where we feel like the four of us just barely fit in the room. Large kitchen/breakfast bar area - large enough for my husband to read the paper. Large bedroom - a king sized bed and still room for the pack-n-play crib (at some places, we have to rearrage furniture to fit it in the bedroom!). The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub - the kids liked the "sprayers".

This hotel is in south Asheville, away from Biltmore, but we were there to see the leaves along the Blue Ridge Parkway (access is just a few miles away!). It was a wonderful hotel experience for our family.

We stayed here in Feb '05 on our trip to the Biltmore Estate. We didn't know where we were going to stay in Asheville, got off at an exit and saw The Hampton and picked it. This was the BEST "stop off the interstate" hotels we have ever stayed in! The lobby is so lovely! It looks like a room out of the Biltmore Estate. Our suite was excellent. The living room & kitchen areas were large and well decorated. It had tv, sofa w/ pull out bed, microwave, fridge, and dishwasher. The bedroom was spacous and very clean. The bathroom had a large jacuzzi tub. We had a nice view of the moutains and it was very pretty in the morning w/ the sunrise. Breakfast in the morning was good, but I enjoyed sitting in the dinning area! It was so nice! The staff was very friendly, giving us directions, etc. The whole hotel is very clean and well worth the money. This is one of the nicest places I have stayed and I would stay here again on another trip to Biltmore.

Our family of four stayed here the night of July 16th when we toured the Biltmore Estates. Although it is several miles outside Asheville, it is the most fabulous Hampton Inn & Suites we have ever stayed in!! The decor is incredible...a large imposing dark wood lobby that is decorated beautifully. The breakfast area is equally impressive...all dark wood that looks as if it belongs in a luxury kitchen rather than at a Hampton Inn! Great choices for the free breakfast...pancakes to microwave, fruit, cereal, bagels etc. There is one big screen tv in the room where you eat. The suite we had was quite large and also tastefully decorated. We had two queen-size beds in the bedroom. The bathroom was not particularly big, and they were not generous with the shampoo, hand lotion, etc...but those are fairly minor things. The main room had a small, but well-equipped kitchen. There was a great outside pool and hot tub. The staff was helpful. The only drawback was the distance into Asheville and the Biltmore Estates. It's all freeway, but it did take about 20 minutes to get to the Biltmore grounds. There is a McDonald's right next door, and it is only a short drive to several other restaurants. We would heartily recommend this Hampton Inn & Suites. We can't vouch for the regular rooms, but the suites are wonderful!!!
