My husband I stayed for two nights in early October 2013. Our hosts, Gene and Bob, made our stay wonderful. The breakfasts we had were excellent and the homey touches--cookies, gourmet chocolates, fresh flowers, robes, upscale toiletries--made our stay even more special. Gene and Bob have thought of everything! We will be back!!

Room Tip: Magnolia room has in room private bath and direct access to the deck.

What a great escape; a great alternative to a hotel. Great hosts, with conversation, excellent breakfasts, and attention to detail! Close proximity to all the Asheville has to offer as well. The setting is serene and quiet, it's rare to experience such a place.

My wife and I were thoroughly impressed with our stay. Gene & Bob's service and hospitality was extraordinary. Gene makes the best (and most impressive) breakfast and treats anywhere. Come to breakfast with a huge appetite! Lodging was very nice and clean. Our room was very spacious. They also do lots of special touches to make your stay special, as well as to remember you as a guest. We left feeling we had made new friends!

I cannot recommend staying at Acorn enough. That is unless it becomes fully booked year round then I'm going to be upset. The hosts, Gene and Bob, go out of their way to make you feel at home. We arrived to find our names written on the welcome sign and fresh baked, scrumptious cookies in our beautifully appointed room. Breakfast is divine and Gene went out of his way to accommodate my food allergies. Big bonus, it's pet friendly so it truly is perfect for the entire family.

Room Tip: Magnolia Room is beautiful, large and has access via French doors to a deck.

I had the opportunity to stay at Acorn Bed and Breakfast near Ashville, North Carolina while on a brief vacation. It is very close to the main gate of the Biltmore House nestled in the woods. The home is clean, quiet and furnished with all the amenities you could want. The hosts are gracious and non-intrusive and make an excellent breakfast. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are quiet. There is nothing second-rate about my experience.

Room Tip: There is a suite of two rooms sharing one bathroom that has access to a private area with television...

We stopped over in NC on our way to Charleston and Savannah. Gene, at the Acorn Bed and Breakfast at Mills River, was so nice to us. We had a 'Welcome Home' sign waiting for us out front when we drove up. Even though the weather was cold and dreary, Gene made our stay there feel so warm and comfortable. The room was very nice, we stayed in The Magnolia Room which had French doors leading out to the back deck. There were home made cookies on the bureau for us when we arrived and a small box of truffles. It was so quite and peaceful there that we had a great nights rest. The next morning, Gene pampered us with a wonderful breakfast! It was such a surprise and one of those small luxuries that really sets your day off to a good start. Thanks again Gene, for all your kindness and hospitality to us on our way through your beautiful state.... Lisa and Leigh

Room Tip: We loved the Magnolia room as it had the French doors which let in alot of light and it was on the f...

We arrived after a 15 hour drive from N.H. Welcomed by Inn keeper Gene. Felt at home, right away. Quiet and homey, we were allowed to have our dog,Soleil, with us, which is important to us! We rested and then went to see family, who had gathered for the wedding the next day. We stayed two nights, slept great on the most wonderful sheets, soo comfortable!! Woke up to smell of coffee and French toast/w peach syrup. Smoothies both mornings. Excellent, thank you Gene! Hope to get back to N.C. Soon. Will only stay at Acorn B&B. PS. Purchased a ceramic mug and it is my favorite for coffee! Thank you, Gene for everything!!!!!

Room Tip: Magnolia room, private bath and French doors to large deck.
