This destination is actually a nice place hidden in the mountains of NC. However, the resort is in dire need of help! Cabins that they refer to as “villas” because they come equipped with a fireplace and a “step-in” jacuzzi....leave a lot to be desired!!! TV reception is the pits, WiFi- forget it! You are given the bare essentials no matter what “cabin” they put you in. Cabinets are nasty from hand prints they are not wiped down from previous guests. Floors and guttering that desperately need to be replaced. A pull-out sleeper sofa in each cabin that I wouldn’t even pull out to look at!!! Tables to eat at that look like they’ve been used to chop wood on for the fire place. I could go on for hours. Management does not care. Someone apparently is sitting back and enjoying the good life....and not at this resort. Fix the issues and it would be a nice place. Don’t get fooled by the photos!!!! I talked to a lot a people staying there last year....everyone was composing!!!!!

Some of the best leaf displays in years from Fontana Lake both east and west. The resort responded well to requestsee for repair of our cabin which had a lovely fireplace, kitchen, and whirlpool bath. There was great access to the Smokiessential and Deal's Gap (the Dragon) . Great leaves at and around 3000 ft elevation east to Bryson City and Gatlinburg.
The unit was one of the best yet after many visits to the resort. The resort staff was very helpful to every request.

Room Tip: Cabin with fireplace

Thank you for your review! The fall is one of the best times of year to visit Fontana Village and this year was no exception. The foliage and color often lasts for weeks!

Cabin was perfect for two people, full kitchen, bath, and bedroom with queen bed. We both cooked and ate out at the grill. Food was great at the grill. Hiking was close as were all amenities which were well maintained. We chose the pontoon ride on the lake. Our captain gave an excellent history of the dam, surrounding area, and scenic area. Had not been to that area for over 50+ years and was surprised at the growth. Wifi is available close to the Lodge, but you will not be bothered with cell phone interruptions if you're looking for peace and quiet. Popular resort for motorcycle and car groups.

Room Tip: Make reservations early if seasonal events come up.

Thank you for your review! Our cabins, of all different sizes and amenity levels are the perfect base-camp for adventure in western North Carolina, and yes, free from cell interruptions for the most part.

The cabin we stayed in was very nice. There where 3 couples we were on motorcycle trip and booked two nights. It rained one whole day so the cabin was a great place to chill. It had a full kitchen and lots of room. We did have to go to the store for groceries and a deck of cards, they do not have any games or cards in the cabin:(.

Thank you for your review! Our Front Desk has board games, cards, and a collection of DVDs that can be borrowed by guests at anytime for rainy day entertainment. Although I hope the weather will be better for you for a return trip, there are some options for games and entertainment for you at all times.

Stayed with several family members. Some in the lodge rooms, others in private cabins. Rooms and decor were somewhat worn but everything was operational. In the lodge
Room, the shower water pressure was very low. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We are at the buffet for breakfast twice; $12 adult and $6 kids. It was decent. Much to do at the resort; put put, disc golf, sight seeing, tennis, swimming and I'm sure more. There's a general store on site and a gas station at the corner.
