We stayed here last Sept. on a trip we called "Rainbows & Hummingbirds".
So quiet and peaceful, enjoyed the church bells playing and echoing thru the valley.
Loved it so much we are heading back next week.
Views from the cabin are spectacular! It is so nice to just sit on the porch and look down the hill! Cabin is reasonably priced, looks rustic with a lot of wood. Also, cabin's kitchen is well equipped - so that it was easy for us to cook.
The only issue was: we did not know (until we saw a note on the fridge) that we need to bring large-size trash bags (they are not provided, and you must take your trash into town to dump it since there is no trash pick-up in the area).
Incredibly beautiful views. The cabin was perfect for a family of 5. Kitchen was well stocked with all the necessary tools and equipment. The owners were very proactive and responsive. We had a bug problem the first night, being in the mountains, they immediately sent a exterminator. It was dark and a bit late when we reached and it was a little anxiety-kicking, especially for people from the plains lol. so would recommend reaching before dark the first night to get to know the path.
We stayed at A Little Slice of Heaven over the front end of Memorial Day weekend and it was truly relaxing. The cabin sits atop a hill overlooking the Iotla Valley and Macon County Airport. It's very quiet and tidy. The kitchen is equipped if you wish to cook there. There's a fireplace in the living room and baseboard heat throughout in case it's chilly; window AC's and ceiling fans if it's hot. Robin and Michael were very pleasant to work with and provided detailed directions to the cabin as well as other info. There are rocking chairs & a porch swing on the deck to relax to the sounds of nature after a day exploring the Franklin area. Also easy to say hi to the passing wild turkeys around 6:30 each evening as they trek through the woods. It's centrally located to many mines and town - about a 17 minute drive from everything. We'd definitely stay there again in the future! Thanks Robin and Michael for sharing your charming cabin with us!!
We arrived after dark so we had no idea of the view that awaited us the following morning. Coffee in hand, the following morning,I ventured onto the porch, sat in the swing, and fell in love with an ever changing view of mountains and valley. Imagine my surprise when several hours later I heard a faint sound of bells and stepped out to hear a church's carillon bells ringing Christmas Carols softly in the distance. This became a daily highlight. Truly, this cabin is a little slice of heaven. Appointed with all the essentials, the cabin is comfortable and clean, but the beauty is it's owners and the surrounding view. Thanks Miller family for sharing it with us for a few days.
My husband, children, and mother stayed in this cabin over Thanksgiving break and had a wonderful time! It is a beautiful cabin, fully equipped, and in a wonderful location. We hope to go back sometime and would readily recommend to others.
Breath taken. Best vacation I've ever had. The cabin is more then the pictures show. The morning view was awesome and the nights spent on the porch was like a dream. I am so thankful my daughter told me about it. The only thing bad about it that I found was my time there was too short. Four days aren't enough, you need at least two weeks of heaven.
