“Beautiful place”
Reviewed 27 June 2014

What a beautiful place just off the Blue Ridge Parkway! Quiet location. Very welcoming and friendly innkeepers. Breakfast had a lot of choices and everything tasted perfect! Especially the cinnamon rolls. Our room (Mesa Verde) was one of the smallest, but with a outside deck to sit on.

This is a very special place with very friendly innkeepers. You will feel welcome the moment you arrive. Glade Valley is located in a quiet peaceful setting just off the a Blue Ride Parkway. The place is immaculately clean, and the breakfast is one of the best. This is clearly not your average Bed & Breakfast. Glade Valley is...."Above The Rest".

Beautiful bed and breakfast tucked in to the foothills of the blue ridge mountains. Jim and Margaret have built this amazing purpose built bed and breakfast with spectacular views woven into the woods. The breakfast was incredible. Quiche, Cinnamon French toast, sausage bacon, made from scratch raspberry Danish. The grounds are beautiful with walking trails. We stayed there because we were picking our kids up from camp cheerio so it is perfectly located for this. We are looking forward to our next stay with them

I picked Glade Valley B&B because we were traveling on the Blue Ridge Parkway and it was nearby. What a wonderful choice! Margaret and Jim made us feel welcome from the first moment. After we were shown the room, she offered us Lemonade and Cookies. The whole place was clean and beautiful and the bed was extremely comfortable. The next morning we enjoyed an amazing breakfast. We will definitely return and plan on sending people their way. It was the highlight of our trip!

My wife and I recently stayed at the Glade Valley Bed and Breakfast. We were greeted as we got out of our car, and our host assisted in taking luggage to our room. Only Verizon cellular service was available, so our host gave us use of their landline to make necessary calls.

The graciousness and courtesy of the Connors was warm and genuine. They seemed to want to sit and visit with their guests during the evening, even after we returned from our dinner. The room was immaculate, and the bed was outstanding. I asked about the brand, etc., because I would definitely want to check it out the next time I'm in the market for a new mattress.

Breakfast - WOW! Scrambled eggs, fried eggs, homemade biscuits and gravy, homemade cinnamon rolls served fresh out of the oven, pork sausage, ham slices, cheese grits, hash browns, plus assorted jams and jellies and coffee/tea choices. (I'm probably forgetting something!)

Overall, a delightful experience. I would definitely book a return stay if I was in the area again. This was a vacation that included the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the location was perfect as a halfway point for the night.

Don't be fooled by the exterior, which -- while nice -- looks fake. Once you enter the B&B, you will we awed. Beautifully decorated- built by the owners. we were greeted by their friendly dog, as well as the owners. Lemonade and home-made chocolate chip cookies were waiting for us, along with candies, coffee, tea. Our room had everything you would need - bathrobes, iron and ironing board, toiletries, plenty of towels, even a flashlight. Our room shared a long deck with other rooms, with a great view. They provided great hints about where to go as we continued our trip, as well as info on local restaurants. (the Mexican restaurant they recommended was great -- and ridiculously inexpensive.) There is a refrigerator on the upper level for guests to use, filled with water and soda for guests to take. Books to enjoy, as well.

Breakfast was amazing -- all freshly made by innkeeper Margaret and her husband. Biscuits and gravy, hash browns, eggs, country ham, sausage, jams & jellies, and not-to-be missed home-made cinnamon rolls. My hobby is cooking and I asked Margaret if I could watch her make the biscuits to learn how to do so (biscuits are one thing I just haven't mastered), and she graciously agreed. Learned some great hints.

when we left, she wrapped two of the excellent cinnamon rolls for us. Our only disappointment is that we were only able to stay one night as we had to move on to our next destination. Definitely a good B&B choice.

Recently stayed again at this wonderful property. This was our third time to the Glade Valley B&B. This time we were able to stay longer and really enjoy our time at this wonderful log home without having to rush to our next destination. It was great to see Margaret and Jim again, and of course Hunter and Pumpkin. Margaret and Jim are warm, pleasant hosts and very accommodating. I think I gained 5 pounds from those wonderful breakfasts. This time we stayed in the Shenandoah room, which is so comfortable and spacious. It's great having the private porch in the front of this room to relax and enjoy the view. We also enjoyed the fire pit a couple of nights which was very relaxing. We really enjoyed the entire area from the Blue Ridge Parkway to Mt. Airy and a few other towns in between. Made it to a few of the vineyards in the area. Really enjoyed the Jones von Drehle vineyard which was less commercialized and the employees/owner were very down to earth. The wine maker even gave us an impromptu wine tour. After being out for most of the day it was great coming back to the comforts of the Glade Valley B&B. It is truly a wonderful place to stay and I look forward to getting back there later in the year. Thanks again Margaret and Jim. See you soon.
