One of the problems with Trip Advisor is that you jump from "average" to "very good"; I would rate Hursey's a solid "Good" I'm rating them a "very good" to err on the side of being nice...
The place is clean, well lit, and the staff is consistently friendly and attentive. I've never had the chicken or seafood, so I can't address that. The "Q" at this Hursey's does not seem to be cooked onsite, which takes something away from the experience, in my humble opinion.
The "Q" is good, moist, with a mildly tangy sauce that they've been using for many, many years (They began selling around 1945 or so) and has become a staple in the Alamance County area. The meat is sliced or chopped, and it is chopped very fine. The hushpuppies have a good taste, and are just a little chewy, not like the crunchy, tooth-busting ones you find at some places. The slaw is white, mayo based, and goes well with the "Q".
This location is just a couple minutes drive off the Interstate, and it's hard to go wrong at Hursey's. We go there a couple times a month, mostly for take out. They are a Burlington area tradition, and certainly worth a visit if you're in the area.
