Very welcoming, no admission charge, beautiful, descriptive displays. Learned a lot about naval actions during the Civil War. Gift shop has a wide variety of items.

I am usually in a hurry when in the area to catch a ferry, but was lucky enough to finally visit this museum. There is so much to read and look at while here so plan some extra time when visiting. If you love everything relating to the coast then you will thoroughly enjoy this museum. There is something for every age.

We go every year to the lighthouse to get some good family photos. This year my husband and two of our children (1 was too short) climbed the lighthouse and took photos of the amazing view. They have a little museum set up to show the history of the lighthouse and tell about the moving of the lighthouse to its new location. Very beautiful lighthouse and the kids enjoyed the climb. Not much for younger kids to do and they become bored very easily.

This is as small museum that appears to operate solely on donations. It had a handful of exhibits, all of which were very informative. There was a scavenger hunt to keep kids engaged with a small reward for completing it. This was a great place to spend an hour or so on a rainy day.
