Luckily we saw a sign for the Hayesville Diner, and that it was located across from the school. We stopped and had breakfast, and have been back 3 times in a month. We live about 30 minutes away, and it is well worth the trip. It is home cooking at its best, including the biscuits and breakfast potatoes! The locals absolutely eat there, and it is country cooking at its best, without being fried or hard on the heart. The daily special egg plates are a great value, but even without those the food is very tasty and the prices are right. The staff is friendly and interested in making sure you are satisfied. Our next stop is going to be to try their Friday night Halibut specials! We can't wait! A definite keeper.
