“Breakfast at its best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 June 2013

Luckily we saw a sign for the Hayesville Diner, and that it was located across from the school. We stopped and had breakfast, and have been back 3 times in a month. We live about 30 minutes away, and it is well worth the trip. It is home cooking at its best, including the biscuits and breakfast potatoes! The locals absolutely eat there, and it is country cooking at its best, without being fried or hard on the heart. The daily special egg plates are a great value, but even without those the food is very tasty and the prices are right. The staff is friendly and interested in making sure you are satisfied. Our next stop is going to be to try their Friday night Halibut specials! We can't wait! A definite keeper.

“Amazing burger presentation.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 May 2013 via mobile

The "Tommy burger" is a visualy piece of kitchen art. It stands about six inches high on your plate with a vertical steak knife needed to hold the hugh burger, lettuce, tomato, bacon and jumbo fried onion rings together. Much bigger then anyone can open their mouth. Some disassembly needed before eating.

My burger could have used much more seasoning and bacon that was better prepared, it was hard to bite through.

All said, this is a very popular restaurant that is loved by locals.

“Daily specials and Friday all you care to eat fish.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 March 2013

Our friends have been raving about the all you can eat Catfish and Haddock at the dinner in Hayesville on Friday. The six of us got together last Friday at six PM. The place was packed with customers waiting for their fried fish plates. Service was pretty fast but if you wanted to order the Haddock, you needed to arrive before we did! The table of twelve next to ours had reordered the last Haddock of twenty pieces! Needless to say, that was disappointing as I had my mouth all set for Haddock. The three large piece of Catfish had a lite cornmeal breading and really filled me up. I could have reorded but I was too full. My sides were cheese grits and coleslaw. Both were just O.K. Several in our group ordered of the menu and were happy with their selections. All in all, good value for your money and a good amount to eat.

“Seems To Be A Favorite Local Spot to Eat”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 March 2013

While passing through Hayesville, NC, we saw this place at lunch time, and the parking lot was full of local cars & trucks. We took a chance. We were seated immediately and the service was pretty quick. We opted for 2 of the lunch specials, and each was $6.99. I had the Shrimp Platter with fries & coleslaw. There was a generous portion of fried shrimp. My wife ordered the Turkey Platter with vegetables. Another fine choice. All in all , the food was good, priced fairly and the place seemed clean. Lots of locals go there and we heard that they had just opened about 3 months ago.
