“Great place for a party!”
Reviewed 22 November 2013

We held a welcome party for our out of town guests on the eve of our wedding in the bar and lobby area of the Adams Inn. Our guests loved the charm and history of the hotel. It was the perfect location to welcome our guests for the wedding weekend!

After living and working in High Point for a number of years, recently returned after a 3 year absence. Adams was the best then and was still solid. High Point doesn't have much to offer in nicer hotels and this place is at the top.

Pros- nice big spacious room, well decorated, the entire place has a charming authentic upscale Southern feel to it. Parking is free and convenient. Staff is extremely friendly. Free breakfast, mostly continental but they will make eggs and had sausage. Very good restaurant on site for dinner as well as a nice intimate bar.

Cons- TV in the room was a fairly small old school low definition model. The toilet valve was faulty, making a loud whooshing sound the whole time. It was like that when I checked in, earlier in the day the maid should have notified someone, would have been an easy fix.

Our second stay here didn't disappoint. Friendly, relaxed, great service, lovely large bathrooms with HUGE soaking tubs too. Hampton's chef is a treasure - everything was excellent in every regard. Highly recommended & we plan on returning too.

Room Tip: We always stay in Room 19 (new wing, first floor, inside corner room), There is alot of free parking...

Lovely facility comprised of an older original building (housing the bar, restaurant, and some rooms) and a newer wing, attached through a pretty courtyard. The facilities, and rooms were nice, but the hotel is missing on those little touches that truly make a wonderful experience. While some of these might seem trivial, they add up to to a list that could elevate the hotel to a higher place.

On check in, the litany of services, including drinks (either wine or beer) each night of your stay was rattled off as if the receptionist was practicing for her auctioneers license. It was as if she couldn't get thru it fastest enough, but all the while with a charming smile on her face.

Our room was spacious, but remarkably lacking in lights (and that included a lack of adequate lighting above or around the bathroom sinks). Another trivial, but telling, mis-step was a lack of complementary soap and toiletries at each sink. We had to ask for a second bar of hand soap. Trivial yes, but again, at these price points, it should be standard practice. Also, while I didn't really look for them, I didn't notice any newspapers available to guests. Again, a small point.

At breakfast, the single server, cook, table server was a lovely lady named Amber whose smile and can-do attitude almost overtook her clear lack of capacity to handle the volume of guests. She tried mightily, but the hotel management made a mistake assuming that a single person could handle so many chores for the guests (and the management would know if they had a full house, ahead of time). But, Amber tried has hard as she could. She is certainly to be commended.

So, if management could focus their attention on-site, and pay attention to details, we would all be well served.

Room Tip: Ask for a room isolated from the courtyard. During our stay, there was a wedding and another recept...

The room we stayed in was beautifully appointed, quiet and spacious, including the fabulous bathroom. We could not have asked for a lovelier visit, and the service is fast and the epitome of southern hospitality! No question:we will be back when we're in the area.

Got a Groupon for this B&B hotel. The place is really nice and clean with antique furniture and hot breakfast. It's very intimate and great for couples and family. I would surely stay there again if I can get a Groupon for it again as it is a bit pricey for regular price but well-worth it.

This inn is on a main street. However it has outdoor seating in the courtyard which lends itself to feeling not so main street if you want to be outside in your down time. The Inn is clean, breakfast is included by way of buffet with eggs, sausages, toast, muffins, cereals, juices, coffee, tea, yogurt, instant oatmeal. The sweet lady who provides the breakfast is more than happy to make your eggs any way you want them in lieu of the scrambled eggs on the buffet. I don't particularly care for the evening dining tables being in the lobby's main entrance, however the breakfast dining area is downstairs off of the courtyard lending itself to a more intimate setting. The courtyard has many tables and chairs available and cover from the elements. If you smoke, you may smoke in the courtyard, but not in the Inn. A glass of wine is complimentary from the bar each evening of your stay if you'd like .Our room was clean with a very large modern bathroom. Mall shopping is a few miles away, and your a short drive to Greensboro, NC. Note that the mall in Highpoint closes at 8 pm even on weekend nights so plan accordingly. I can't say this is a fabulous Inn, however it is fairly comfortable and met our needs for the weekend.
