“Solid choice for High Point”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 November 2013 via mobile

I used to work in High Point back in the day when the Adams restaurant was the highly acclaimed Southern Roots. After a 4 year absence, I returned, staying in the Adams, and decided to try Hamptons for dinner with business colleagues.

The chopped salad was excellent, nice presentation and flavor. The calamari appetizer was also excellent, featuring outstanding roasted asparagas. We both had the shrimp and ravioli, which while quite delicious in flavor, underwhelmed us in portion size for the price. Service was friendly and quick.

A lovely setting for great food. Sure wish that breakfast offerings were as inspired, good basics are "good enough".

“Not to be missed!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2013 via mobile

We had breakfast twice (included with our hotel stay) and dinner one night for our group. The breakfast menu is limited but more than adequate, but it's worth it not just because it's complimentary, but because of the friendliness of the staff (special thanks to Tina, DeeDee and Nadia)!

Dinner was exceptional: One of my favorite meals when dining in the south is crab. I have never seen a larger crab cake in my life and it was delicious! My husband's steak was perfectly prepared and also delicious.

Service at this meal was fast, friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our server, Stacy. We will return to this hotel and to this wonderful restaurant! Thank you for a wonderful evening!

P.S. the vocalist and guitarist were fabulous as well--exceptionally talented, and their song choices were spot-on.

“Unexceptable At Any Cost”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 May 2013

My wife and I were so excited to share so time together at their much touted Afternoon Tea... We were greeted by the most horrid service ever. We had to constantly remind our server what was included from their one page menu, her excuse was that they had a tea party for 50 kids elsewhere in the restaurant. Once the food arrived it was clear that from the stale croissant and tasteless chicken that they no longer were the Hampton's of old. When I mentioned the service to the manager, she never apologized or took ownership of the situation, but chose to blame the 50 children for messing up our visit, how pathetic. High Point is a small city based around the furniture industry and word travels fast of places to be avoided.... I just wish we had heard the warnings before having to endure this torture!!!

“Beautiful setting with a nice atmosphere.”

Hampton's at JH Adams Inn is a gem in downtown High Point. The restaurant is in a restored Italianate design mansion. The food is well prepared and they have a nice selection of dishs and price ranges. It is upper end but worth it for a special event .
