“Great BnB. Very Welcoming”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 November 2013

We found Wilson House to be a great spot for visiting High Point. While the furniture shopping is now a bit disappointing vs. years back, this BnB is worth a stop on its own. Breakfast is enormous and freshly cooked with all sorts of choice. The rooms are large and comfortable. The owners and staff really go out of their way to make you welcome, help with advice on the area etc. The only tiny drawback is the train line is near by and you might hear it once in a while. I'm pretty noise adverse but didn't find it disturbing and it never woke me. The main street of High point is within a short walk. If we every go back to High Point, we'd be trying to book this place well in advance.

My wife and I began staying at B&B's several years ago. We really enjoy the experience, personal care you receive and, most importantly, the relationships we make. We have stayed in some excellent B&B's. The Wilson House is among the best. We honestly have no complaints. The home is immaculate. The bed and breakfast were great. And we made some new friends. We will definitely be back as our son is going to school in the area. Thanks Ron, Angie and Erica for the wonderful experience!

Room Tip: We stayed in Room #4 but they all looked great.

Currently staying at the Wilson House and it's simply fantastic. Everything about it. Charm, super clean, world class breakfasts and most importantly the genuine welcoming service from the owners Ronnie and the fabulous ladies that make him look good. I've been in the hospitality business for 40+ years in the U.S. and in the U.K. and can say without hesitation the Wilson House experience sets the standard for a superb bed and breakfast. !!!

Room Tip: Just be nice.

Five stars stand for excellence and that is exactly what one can expect from hosts Ron and Angie. My wife and I stayed over the Wilson House for three nights recently as we dropped off our sweet girl for college at High Point University and I can tell you that we had a truly terrific stay. Our king sized bed was comfortable and the room itself and bathroom were both beautiful and clean. The mansion was built in 1908 and it is a very elegant and romantic building with hand crafted woodwork throughout. But above all, the Wilson House is a great place for a relaxing stay, good food and sincere hospitality. Ron and Angie treat every guest with kindness and warmth and they do everything in their power to make your stay enjoyable. The breakfasts are the most delicious in town. And what a value! Three nights with the 10% High Point University discount made the Wilson House the greatest value for the money that I ever experienced anywhere! We won't be staying anywhere else during the next four years that we will be going down to High Point to see our girl.

If you've got a reason to be in downtown High Point you cant do much better than a stay at Wilson House. Ronnie and Angie are great hosts and couldn't have been more accommodating. Their place is a wonderful historic house with huge rooms, very clean, and all the modern conveniences, as well as plenty of privacy. I have two small caveats. First off the house is very close to a train line, which is a bit of a surprise the first time you hear it. Even though I'm a light sleeper I got used to it very quickly so it really wasn't a problem in the long run. Also there are two large well behaved dogs in residence. If you are a dog lover, then no problem, Ronnie keeps them in line. Also worth noting: the train station is within walking distance, as are several good restaurants (See Penny Path Café & Crêpe Shop). I highly recommend Wilson House.

We found this gem of a B&B when visiting NC for a niece's graduation. It's actually located where our family lives in High Point, not Greensboro. So we didn't have to drive far. Our hosts were wonderful! We were welcomed like family, but treated as special guests. Our king bedroom was very comfortable and clean. However, the breakfasts were the highlight of our stay. Delicious, home-cooking!! My husband and I would have given this a five star, but we would be remiss if we didn't disclose that the inn is along a train line, and trains do run passed every so often, even at night. The first time I heard it was startling, but it truly did not distract from getting a good nights sleep. The couple in the room next door had a baby with them and they said the train did not bother the child at all. Enough said on this. Now go make your reservation and plan on taking time to sit on the huge front porch with your favorite beverage. Guests have access to a frig to keep items you bring along cold.

We stayed at the Wilson House for a weekend while furniture shopping. Ron and Angie were so sweet and welcoming from the beginning. The home is beautiful and in great condition. The breakfast that Angie made was absolutely delicious and even healthy! Highly recommend this place!
