“Penny Path Café & Crêpe Shop, a beautiful experience”
Review of Penny Path Cafe

Penny Path Cafe
Ranked #1 of 13 Dessert in High Point
Certificate of Excellence
Price range: US$3 - US$10
Cuisines: Cafe
Description: We are a small cafe that holds 17 to 20 guests and all of our crepes are made to order. The penny Path is not a quick fix, if you have 10 folks in front of you expect to wait a little for your turn;) We offer sweet and savory crepes as well as made to order Coffee Drinks. Our savory menu is all vegetable and cheese based. We offer one main savory Crepe, the "Kitchen Sink" which contains a little of all the savory ingredients we carry. Guests can also create their own savory crepe with the available ingredients. Anyone of our Crepe Cooks can also be trusted to be let loose to create whatever they feel like for you, commonly know here as the "Trust Me" Crepe.

Last week we headed to the High Point Theatre and decided while we were there to check out the top Tripadvisor rated restaurant which just happened to be .3 of a mile from our final destination.

What a fun experience! We were glad we had plenty of time to spare because we were treated to a delightful encounter with the owner who proceeded to "create" the perfect meal and THEN the perfect DESSERT! Our crêpe was vegetarian and the treat after, a delicious Crêpe Suzette.

As we chatted with Miro (who hales from Germany) it was obvious that he is living his passion and the sparkle in his eye spoke volumes about his happiness. And, for me the extra plus was his concern about having gluten free crêpes and other good quality choices for discerning people that watch what they eat. Kudos to him and his bright future.

In town on business. Made time to stop in for lunch this trip and I am so glad I did. I thought it may be too light to satisfy my large lunch appetite but it was wonderful. I left stuffed full of fresh ingredients! So full I may go back tonight to try the sweet crepe for dinner (no children to witness it!) You don't want to miss this one. It was great entertainment to watch the owner create each dish as I sat at the lunch counter - lunch AND a show :)

My husband and I had heard about The Penny Path Cafe and Crepe Shop quite a few times recently and have just not had the time to visit. Well, we made the time today, and we couldn't have been more pleased! From the minute we drove up, we noticed the exterior had a little brighter shine than the surrounding buildings and when we opened the front door and entered this tiny little cafe, we were pleasantly surprised! The decor was so amazing, from the copper celings to the unique 'penny path' throughout to the creative use of jeans, to the owner artwork - what a cool little place! We met the owner, Miro who was genuinely appreciative of our visit and proceeded to make the most amazing crepes! We enjoyed our lunch crepes, but made sure to take a Fruit Cheese Cake crepe back to the office for sharing among our staff. Pricing is very reasonable for the portion size. Don't go when you are in a hurry, as they cook the crepes to order, so you need to take a little time to just relax. (or if you are in a hurry, call your order in ahead of time!)
It is refreshing to see someone take a chance at an idea and make it work - and what a wonderful addition to our town that is so lacking in creative, unique eateries! Do yourself a favor and visit The Penny Path soon!

We are self-confessed foodie snobs who recently moved to the area from Chapel Hill - and this is the first place that has exceeded our expectations! The crepes are fantastic. We had the original and the sundried tomato, and the owner made our baby her very own mini crepe with a little chocolate sauce. The shop is warm and friendly; everyone was talking to each other, and the owners are just lovely. The coffee is also excellent; they have a great espresso machine and actually know how to use it. Cannot recommend enough! We are looking forward to becoming regulars.

Was out of town in Wilmington 2 weeks ago and went for crepes. First time for the little guys. Our 9 year old loved them so much, he asked if we could go somewhere near home (Greensboro, NC) and get crepes. Googled it...and the ONLY place that came up within 30 minutes of here was Penny Path. Went today. OMG. Blows the crepes in Wilmington away! Cute, quaint, laid back crepe shop hidden away in downtown High Point, NC. Everyone chats w/ everyone else (seats about a dozen an a half folks at one time) and the owner is sweet, generous and very kind. Engaged my 9 year old and 6 year old the entire time! LOVE this place and can't wait to go back...endless sweet and savory options on the menu, super fresh ingredients!!
