I've tried many sushi restaurant in the triad and at the beaches. This is the best you can get, always fresh. Tony (the owner) has some of the most friendly people working there, they all ways have a smile on. The sushi can be made your way, even if you would like to try something new, they can help you with that too. The Japanese hibachi dishes are cook where you can watch it all. The price you will pay is always on the mark.

“Not as good as usual”
Reviewed 25 August 2012

Normally a good restaurant to dine for a lunch/dinner while at the Palladium area. However this time the portions were paltry and the veggies were scarce on the plate. I don't know what happened this time - normally the servings are healthy :-). I will still continue to patronize this place but with caution, there are too many other Jaoanese places within 5 minutes if this establishment to choose from.

“Great Dinner and a Movie destination”
Reviewed 26 July 2012

Small little place in the Pavillon, next to the theatre. Very convenient for us, my wife and I eat there all the time.. several times a month. The food is terrific, very reasonable, and if you like Sushi, they serve it as well. At Yamato, you order, they prepare it and serve you quickly... no cooking at the tables here... although you can see the Chef preparing your meal through the glass divider while you are seated. I enjoy the full 'cook at the table' restaurants, but sometimes I want Japanese food and a movie, and I can get a great Japanese meal here and be out quickly and walking next door to the movie theatre. Great food, very reasonable, in a convenient location with a ton of parking. We love it!

“Preffered because of location.”
Reviewed 19 July 2012

This is one of the closer Japanese resturants we like, and also because it is near the cinema. Otherwise this is good food, at an OK price, nothing exciting. I really like the squid salad, but many of the sushi rolls are underwhelming and the hibachi is just decent. No real ambiance, however everyone has always been very accomodating and nice. We were there last at what appeared to be a slow time, still it was kind of slow. I would probably return, but wouldn't say it's a fav.

“No Go”
Reviewed 12 July 2012

Tried this local Japanese restaurant today (a business day) for lunch at 12:30pm. Given the location, we assumed they were used to handling the lunch crowd. It was busy with a short line waiting to be seated. We needed to get in and out in under an hour. The hostess, while polite, had no sense of urgency. The group of four in line in front of us walked out which was the only reason we stayed. After waiting at least five more minutes and being told they "just had to clean the table", we nearly walked out and then were finally seated. The service was slow. The food was average at best. At least it was cheap.
