This is a great place. The old home is quite homey and warm. There is a large wrap around porch which has swings and tables in case you want to eat breakfast out or drink wine and watch the numerous hummingbirds in the afternoon or evening. The owners are most gracious and accommodating We had some small request for breakfast and Donna and Chris was more than happy to see that we were satisfied with our meal. Donna is a great cook and prefers to stay with healthy choices which is a plus for us. The property quite charming is located within a nice walk into town. The rooms are large and comfortable and quite pleasantly decorated. There are lots of books available to read and lots of available material to find a local hike or waterfall which there are many in the area. The area is quite famous for hikes and waterfalls. Our stay was 2 nights and most pleasant and we hope to return to a winter getaway and experience the charm of Highlands and the Colonial Pines Inn.
