We have been staying at Colonial Pines with Donna and Chris for 27 years and they just keep making our stays more pleasant. The inn is beautiful, walking distance to town, spotless, and they can answer every question you might have with great suggestions, You can do as much as you want or as little as you want. You can sit on the porch and read OR go down the hill and listen to David Coucheron (Concertmaster of the Atlanta Symphony and his world renowned sister, Julie at the Performing Arts Center (during the Highlands Summer Concert series) OR hike down Glen Falls (a stunning waterfall about 10 min away) or hike up Whiteside Mountain for marvelous vistas OR hear the St Paul's Episcopal Choir sing at lunchtime (two time invitees to the Spoleto Festival OR go to the Botanical Garden or whatever you want to do. The Inn is a wonderful getaway from everything. Donna's breakfasts are legendary and their hospitality is not to be equaled. We hope you enjoy yourself half as much as we always do and you will be extremely happy. Ralph and Rita

The innkeepers, Donna and Chris have perfected the fine art of accommodating their guests every need while never being intrusive. I just returned from a spectacular two night vacation and I sincerely mean vacation at this beautiful property. While the name of my suite was the Bargain Basement it was only a bargain price. All of the amenities of a much more expensive space were available. The bedding was so comfortable I had to make myself get going. The entire property is beautiful and exceptionally well maintained and well appointed. The living area was very charming with a beautiful fireplace and dining room. Lovely and scrumptious "nibbles" were always available as well as tea, coffee and infused spring water. I must admit I seemed to be enjoying some delicious treat "all the time". It was delightful and so very relaxing to sip coffee or tea with a delicious homemade dessert while rocking on the wrap around porch.
Chatting with other guest confirmed their delight and total satisfaction with their rooms within the main house. Several confessed they had been coming for up to 25 years which is certainly an amazing testament to the quality of service from Donna and Chris. I look forward to returning to Highlands and will be excited to stay here again. Thanks Donna and Chris for providing such an exceptional stay.

Room Tip: I enjoyed walking the several blocks to Main Street for shopping. The Innkeepers offered transportat...

Recently spent 2 nights at the Colonial Pines inn, which turned out to be one of the most relaxing get a ways my husband and I have experienced. Breakfast was great, innkeepers met our every need. The rooms were comfortable even without a/c,fans provided needed cooling. We would definitely return for another visit.

Room Tip: Loved the queen suite with sitting area.

Donna and Chris opened their home to us and made us feel like it was our home away from home. Walking distance to town. Sitting on large porch was very relaxing. This was our first stay here, but it will not be our last hopefully. Ted & Frances

What a delightful B & B. This one has been added to our favorites list. Donna and Chris are welcoming and warm hosts and Donna is a fantastic cook. Colonial Pines is a homey and comfortable B & B. Donna introduced us to the house, showing us where everything is located and gave lots of good information on places to go and things to do and see.
The bed was so comfortable...what fine sheets and pillows. We loved the large porch and enjoyed our morning coffee and evening wine just soaking up the lovely location. What a wonderful place to celebrate our 45th anniversary. Thank you, Donna and Chris, for a wonderful time at Colonial Pines and the memories we have taken home with us. We recommend this lovely B & B very highly.

Room Tip: All rooms are attractive and comfortable, with either queen or king beds.

Charming B&B with the best breakfast we've found! Chris and Donna are delightful hosts and the breakfast is spectacular. In addition to the full spread of egg and cheese casseroles, freshly baked breads, ham or sausage and seasonal fruit, cereals and fruit are also available for those looking for a lighter breakfast. This is one of our favorite spots when we need to retreat from Atlanta for the weekend. We've recommended this to friends and family and everyone has loved it.

Once again we were back this year for our anniversary weekend. And once again we had a wonderful, relaxing weekend. We had a fire in the evening in the man house, a very comfortable king bed (bargain basement this year), and one of the best breakfasts ever. Chris and Dona are great hosts, so comfortable to be around and at the ready with helpful local information. Thanks, and see you next year!
