“Best anniversary weekend!”
Reviewed 28 June 2011

My husband and I celebrated our first anniversary this past weekend in the Fireplace suite at Highlands House Bed & Breakfast. It far exceeded our expectations and Colin and Raleigh (and Tallulah) were perfect hosts. The room was quite spacious and romantic. We loved being able to open up the room's french doors and enjoy the garden outside. The gas fireplace was beautiful and simple to use. Our favorite part was the homemade breakfast out on the deck overlooking a little stream and fish pond. We will definitely be back!

My fiance and I (and our puppy) just came back from Highlands House B&B. We stayed at the fireplace suite and oh....how we wish we were still there right now!! The fire place and jacuzzi were a real treat and the breakfast (elegantly served on fine china!) was truly "bed & breakfast" style! The inn is nicely tucked in the woods, a very short driving distance to the main street; secluded, private, and a great place to relax! Highlands house B&B has a wonderful "home" feeling and is very finely decorated. There are lots of nice sitting areas both indoors and outdoors. The first morning we sat outside and enjoyed reading time overlooking the small waterfall and pond area. It was most enjoyable. We also enjoyed cocktail hour (evening at six) especially. Colin and Raleigh were wonderful hosts and much fun to talk to.

Stay here if you're looking to enjoy a very pleasant bed and breakfast experience. We can't wait to go back!

My husband and I and Molly (our pug) just returned from a 3 night stay in the Fireplace room and loved every minute! This B & B is the best of its kind. The location of the Highlands House was perfect, very quite and relaxed with just a 4 minute drive to Main Street. Colin and Raleigh take hospitality to a new level. Homemade breakfast that included french toast, strawberry pancakes, eggs, fresh fruit, and the best coffee around was just the start. Happy hour was also something you didnt want to miss. We felt so welcome and really enjoyed Raleigh and Colin's company. Our pug made a new best friend with Toloola (their dog). We have already started to plan our next trip back. Thanks again!

This beautiful home in the North Carolina mountains is a must for those who are looking
for lovely rooms with private baths and private outside seating, warm antique furnishings,
and views that are breathtaking. My hosts, Raleigh Hill and Colin Rayner were attentive
and very warm. Raleigh Hill serves an elegant three course breakfast, one of the real
attractions of this lovely Bed and Breakfast. There are two waterfalls on different and
many private seating areas where you can sit and enjoy the quiet elegance of the
home and surroundings. This is a must!

Room Tip: Book the suite, it is lovely!

We came to HIghlands for a wedding weekend. We decided to stay away from town and found the Highlands House B & B via the internet. Colin and Raleigh are great hosts. They are very accommodating. Lovely antiques, comfortable bedding, breakfast each morning was great. We had a group over for cocktails and they all wanted to know how we found the B & B (and I think that they wished they were there instead of at an overpriced inn in town). Town is 5 minutes away. No problems getting where we needed to go. Be sure to check this B & B out if traveling in to this area.

Room Tip: Need a kitchenette - ask for the Terrance Suite
