My daughter and I spent 3 nights in this rain forest paradise. The most beautiful, lush place I gave ever been. Waterfalls everywhere. The owners were a wealth of knowledge and told us trails to hike and places to eat dinner. They fixed the most amazing, delicious breakfasts. They were always available to answer questions and wanted to please you. Great getting away from TV and the "real world" for a few days.

From the moment I entered the drive to Fire Mountain, I knew that I was going to have a unique experience. Hiram and Matthew are great hosts. They asked if I had visited the area before and mapped out day trips for me, which were wonderful. Breakfast is a special occasion at Fire Mountain, and not to be missed. Also not to be missed is the peaceful tranquility of Fire Mountain, and of course, the 365 degree views, the sunrises and the sunsets. I will definitely be back.

My stay at Fire Mountain could not have been more perfect! Everything down to the smallest detail has been well thought out and cared for by Hiram and Mathew. I am a nature lover but I am not a pioneer and Fire Mtn is a perfect match for people like me. The breakfasts are indescribably delicious (and were eagerly awaited every morning!). The cabin was very clean, and modern, and well appointed with everything you could possibly need and then some. The scenery and atmosphere are so peaceful and serene. As a woman traveling solo, security is always a concern - but not at Fire Mtn. I can't say enough about the owners, Hiram and Mathew, and the care they take with making sure each guest's needs are met and that they have a most pleasant stay.

Gorgeous mountain views, gracious hosts, a delicious breakfast, and a chance to completely unwind are the things that make Fire Mountain a place we plan to visit again and again. The facility and grounds are well cared for and the view really cannot be beat! The room was nicely outfitted with lots of attention to detail, luxury linens, and logs ready to light in the fireplace. Breakfast was perfect with a tremendous variety and excellent preparation and quality. each day we had an egg dish, bacon or sausage, French toast or homemade bisquitts, a variety of fresh fruit, juices, coffee, and tea. The resort is located about 10 minutes from Main Street in Highlands. Mathew and Hiram were very helpful with hiking and activity ideas. We can't wait to go back!

Fire Mountain was a perfect getaway weekend! Beautiful setting in the mountains, comfortable sleep, delicious breakfasts!! Restaurants and shopping/sight seeing in the area was really fun and all our meals were fantastic. We will definitely go for another trip perhaps to enjoy a different season of the year.

Room Tip: As it was in March when we went, we chose the room with the fireplace. It was nice and cozy!

Cannot say enough nice things about our stay at Fire Mountain. Our hosts, Hiram and Mathew were knowledgeable of everything to do in the area. Our main goal was to enjoy the views from different mountains and their suggestions on how to approach each excursion were invaluable .
This is a great place to wind down and enjoy your favorite person's company .
Also , If you stay in the inn versus a cabin , you will find that Fire Mountain Inn breakfast are inspired as well as delicious . I highly recommend Fire Mountain Inn as a great place to get away with your spouse .

We had a perfect weekend in Highlands, NC. Fire Mountain is about 9 miles south of Highlands off of Dillard hwy (106). The property is wonderful and it's a perfect location to get away for a weekend. We stayed in Red Thunder, which has the best sunset views. Great location for hiking, seeking out waterfalls or traveling into Highlands for shopping and incredible restaurants. The accommodations come with breakfast and they really did a great job with it. This would be a great place for a group of friends as well.

Room Tip: We stayed in Red Thunder. It has the very best Sunset views and the breakfast area is right outside...
