Old Edwards is really first class in every regard. Starting with accommodations on to the spa, the restaurant, wine garden and the folks who are so nice. Treatment is "world class" is every regard.
They have several off site venues for events too.

Some girlfriends and I went to Old Edwards in Highlands for a weekend of shopping and pampering and we weren't disappointed! The Old Edwards Inn is fabulous! When we checked in the staff called us by name and it seemed as if they were welcoming back old friends. We stayed in the Lodge Cottages and they were just lovely. We had our own screened in porch to enjoy cocktails in the evening. The bathroom floors are heated and they have Molton Brown products. The beds are fluffy and cozy. As we were leaving our cottage for dinner one evening it began to rain and one of the housekeeping staff saw us scurrying without umbrellas, she personally secured umbrellas for each of us and ensured we made it to Madison's as dry as possible! That was definitely beyond her immediate scope of responsibility and is just one example of the excellent customer service we received all weekend. I am so looking forward to my next trip to Old Edwards!

Room Tip: If you like a little extra privacy, the Lodge Cottages are an excellent choice.

My husband and I went for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary. On our drive up we said we would probably never come back due to the long winding road up the mountain. But, once we arrived, we never wanted to leave. The staff were very welcoming, courteous, and helpful. Our room was amazing, roomy and clean. The Inn is located so that once you park your car, you do not have to get into it again until you leave. There are plenty of restaurants and activities within a short walk of the Inn. The Spa was incredible and I can definitely see why it is rated one of the best Spas in the country. I had a Journey to Bliss Facial, and it truly was a journey to bliss. We ate a dinner and a breakfast at Madison's and enjoyed our meals. The food is what I call "foo-foo", but it was good, just enough to fill you up. All the restaurants that we ate at were reasonably priced. I don't know what else to say, but that we truly enjoyed our stay and hope to go back very soon!

It's good to know that you felt rewarded for your drive up into the North Carolina mountains:-) Sounds like you made the most of your stay with us, including one of our most popular facials, the Journey to Bliss. We're happy to know you will return, and we really appreciate your posting a review on TripAdvisor.

My husband and I just returned this evening from 3 very nice nights at Old Edwards. We stayed in a Spa Suite (highly recommended) and our room was fantastic - roomy, great mattress, lovely heated floors in the bathroom, awesome Molton Brown toiletries. Very convenient to the Spa. We couldn't ask for more in a room. Bottle of Champagne in our room, without us asking.

We were checked in early (with champagne) and had a great afternoon at the wine garden. Good music, great service. We went to the Ugly Dog Bar down the street for dinner.

Our service on Saturday was disappointing. It started with room service breakfast ordered and promised within 30 minutes. After 45 minutes we called - apparently, the new trainee neglected to take either our name or our room number down, so they had no idea WHERE to deliver our breakfast. The manager immediately got on the phone and told us our breakfast was free and would be there immediately (which it was). We had a couples massage on Saturday - nice experience. The spa is wonderful. We next went to the pool - we ordered lunch at the pool and it took almost an hour for our sandwich and quiche to arrive. Again, disappointing. We had a great meal at Madison's that evening - the sommelier was fantastic and was VERY helpful in finding us a wine which was what we both wanted to compliment our meals. Fantastic meal and service at Madison's. However, we went into the Library Bar for drinks and ordered drinks … and they never came. Our waiter never came back either. I believe the hotel was understaffed for the Library Bar that Saturday evening - it seemed as though only one waitress was covering dozens of folks who wandered into the Bar that evening. I suspect the resort itself maybe was understaffed for busy Memorial Weekend. The Manager on Duty politely heard our complaints and gave us two vouchers for wine (which we redeemed in a very different, a quiet, Library Bar the following evening.

This is a wonderful resort and all of the staff, spa, and amenities are simply wonderful. However, our service was not up to par throughout the day Saturday which is not what one expects for paying the rather large tab for staying at such an elegant and highly rated hotel. My husband holds a grudge and stated on Saturday night that we "wouldn't be back." I adore Old Edwards and we will be back - it is simply too lovely not to return.

Thank you for your nice comments about Old Edwards on TripAdvisor despite some service issues over your Memorial Day Weekend stay. We have a dedicated, well-trained team that really gets it right the majority of the time. However, we know that glitches do happen, and we apologize that you experienced some of those during your visit. A manager will be reaching out to you regarding your stay, and we do appreciate your comments that help us improve our services. It's good to know that you plan to return so we can show you "the real" Old Edwards hospitality.
Warm Regards

We spent an evening at Old Edwards Inn in celebration of our anniversary. From check in to check out we were pampered. All the staff knew we were celebrating our anniversary and addressed us by name and wished us a Happy Anniversary. The Cottage was well decorated and comfortable. Loved the heated floor in bathroom and heated towel bars. Dinner at Madison's was exceptional. Wait staff was superb.

From the first "Welcome to the Old Edwards Inn" to the "We look forward to seeing you again", we were blown away. The staff was phenomenal, the grounds impeccable, our room amazing, and the dining was second to none. We were here for our tenth anniversary and from a simple note requesting a nice table for dinner, each member of the staff wished us Happy Anniversary and even surprised us with champagne, roses, and turn down service while we enjoyed our dinner. The attention to detail was magnificent.

We also chose a tennis package and cannot say enough great things about Carlos. He renewed my interest in the game and helped my wife truly enjoy it for the first time.

Truly a remarkable experience.

Thank you all!

Room Tip: The Lodge Cottages were great. In the center of everything but incredibly private.

My wife and I escaped to the Old Edwards Inn to celebrate our anniversary and had a wonderful experience! The staff was unbelievably attentive, responsive, and respectful. Our room was wonderful. The bed was very comfortable, we has a private patio/gate to the pool, and the bathroom floors were even heated! We felt very welcomed and special throughout our stay including our visit to Madison's (the inn's main restaurant) and the spa. The meal was very good and the couple's massage was life-changing. It's not a matter of if we will come back - it's a matter of when! The only downside is it is a little expensive, but it was definitely worth it.
