Old Edwards is phenomenal! We stayed here in June 2014 while considering the resort as a wedding venue. We ultimately did not choose it, but let me be clear that our choice in NO WAY reflects the service or quality of this resort.

From the moment we entered the grounds were were treated well by the staff. The grounds are magnificent. They are nice and spread out so clients are not on top of each other. There is a sense of quiet seclusion and calm throughout the resort that I haven't felt in a long time.

The rooms are gorgeously appointed, luxurious, cozy and first-class all the way. We stayed in the falls cottage and it felt like a home away from home. We didn't want to leave.

All that plus it is situated in beautiful Highlands - the most perfect mountain town that ever was. Swoon - this place is the real deal in boutique luxury.

We aren't getting married here, but we will be back - no question. Maybe even BEFORE the wedding. We are totally in love and can't wait to make another trip!!!

My husband and I recently stayed at this wonderful property over the 4th of July weekend. While they were booked full the service did not skip a beat. Jonathan at the Hickory pool was amazing and took great care of us. We loved our room in the Falls Cottage Suite. The room was very comfortable and beautifully appointed. We had dinner at Madison's and absolutely loved it. All in all it was a perfect stay. We will be back!

My husband and I recently stayed at the Old Edwards Inn/Lodge and absolutely loved it.
Our room was beyond cozy and the cool mountain weather allowed us to use the fireplace in our room in the evenings.
The OEI grounds are beautiful! We enjoyed both pools, the main OEI and just relaxing.

Room Tip: I absolutely recommend the lodge. It's a bit removed from the main building and is newer

Highlands North Carolina is a great place to relax and get away from it all. We have stayed at OId Edwards Inn numerous times. We just came back and were very pleased with our room, the lounge area and of course the wine garden. Normally we enjoy reading at the beautiful pool but the weather did not cooperate on this trip and it rained the entire two days we were there. It was very disappointing as we came to enjoy the fantastic weather and read by the pool. They have a lovely spa area and nice fitness center if you also get the rainy weather. The only disappointment we had was Madison's Restaurant. We have a very disappointing dinner there and probably the worst breakfast ever. They could not scramble an egg without making it look like flattened brown cardboard. This was the first time so something is off in the kitchen and needs to be fixed. Highlands itself has plenty of good restaurants so if you are traveling there anytime soon I would stay away from Madisons. There are breakfast and dinner spots on the same block that are much much better. We hope the hotel fixes this.

Room Tip: There are numerous accommodations to choose from. There are traditional rooms at the Historic Inn...

Thank you for your great review of Old Edwards, and it's good to know you had a good time in spite of Mother Nature not cooperating during your visit. We also appreciate your candid feedback about Madison's Restaurant. We use our guest input to help refine our services and train our staff, so thank you for your contribution. We hope to see you back...when Mother Nature is in a better mood:-)

Once again had a fabulous stay at OEI! This time we were in the Rainbow Cottage- a 1 bedroom with sitting area which was so cozy. We used the Falls pool since we were right next to it and it was lovely. Special thanks to Hannah for taking care of us. Breakfast in Madison's was a treat- thank you Lily and Rebekah for great service! Still wish the Wine Garden would stay open later than 9:00- especially on these gorgeous summer nights! As always can't wait to return!

We came up to escape the heat and had yet another wonderful stay at OEI. This time we stayed in the lodge and enjoyed the pool, spa, and great game room at night. Ford and service were fabulous. Can't recommend enough!

Room Tip: Ask to stay away from high traveled areas around the pool areas....

Old Edwards was incredible from the beginning. I almost hate to give it a review because I'd love to (selfishly) keep it a secret, but my new husband and I loved it there! We cannot wait to head back. It was relaxing from the beginning and in such a great spot that you could stay completely on the property and be totally satisfied, but could also venture out into the town of Highlands from the front door on Main Street and hit up some local food spots or hiking. The service was really wonderful as well- very friendly and attentive and truly some of the nicest people! One of the managers found out it was our honeymoon and had a bottle of champagne sent up to the room as a surprise. We just felt completely at home (yet still on vacation) while there- it helped that there were mini-fridges with waters and a freezer filled with Dove bars whenever you wanted to have one!

The food was really good too- even the room service which is from their restaurant, Madisons. The kitchen actually messed up my dinner order, but when I called, the server immediately came back up and they brought me a new meal (which was removed from the bill) and with no hassle.

The spa was also a real highlight- the best spa I have ever been to and one of the nicest facials as well. It was a real perk to have access to it as a guest even on days when we didn't have appointments. It got a little crowded (and nosier) on the Saturday, but on other days was very quiet and I was even on my own at some points in the ladies whirlpool.

Overall a 5 star experience!

Room Tip: We stayed at the Inn- had a corner room with two balconies, two bathrooms (one shower, one tub), a b...
