We've stayed at the Iron Horse four times in the past year, so obviously we love it. It is amazingly clean, wonderful beds, recently renovated, super friendly staff, a charming old hotel that has been renovated immaculately and thoughtfully. The restaraunt downstairs is just as great, and both are improbably delightful finds in a little town in the mountains. I've read the other reviews commenting on noise, but I didn't find it noisy at all and slept incredibly well. I can't stand large chain hotels, and this place is/was obviously crafted lovingly by real people who have a passion for doing what they do well. We were thrilled from the start to find this gem, and look forward to returning soon.

We are new parents and wanted to get away for a weekend while the grandparents were in town. I only wanted 2 things: to be with my husband and get some sleep. I was able to check off the first thing, but didn't get much sleep. Aside from the trains going by from anytime except 1am and 7:45am, our room was right outside of a neon sign and let a lot of light into the room even with the blinds. The appearabce of the place was great--very charming and I LOVED the restaurant. There was great music on Fri. night and good food. The building was very noisy though, which should be expected with an older place, but it was not relaxing and the walls were extremely thin. I did not enjoy listening to the couple next door yell at their children. I thought it was overpriced for what it was.

This was a clean and friendly inn with all the attributes of an old tavern. Bring a white noise machine or heavy duty earplugs as the walls are paper thin and the building echoes.
