We stayed at the Iron Horse Inn and visited the tavern both for dinner and just to sit at the bar. Everyone was super friendly and accomodating. Our dinner was excellent. The bar only serves wine and beer due to local regulations which was a bit of a surprise to us. The bar tender was great and offered samples of the unusual beers on tap. We quickly began talking to people sitting near us and felt right at home. A singer and guitar player entertained on both evenings we were there. This is a nice place to relas and enjoy this historical town. Closing time during the week is rather early though, around 9.

Best blackened chicken on penne pasta with alfredo sauce that we've ever had. The service was excellent, as was the atmosphere.

For such a tiny little mountain town Hot Springs has a few very good restaurants! This is one of them. Went here for lunch -can't remember what we had but we had planned on returning until we decided to try another local place. Will be back on our next visit for sure. The coffee shop next door has Wifi.

The service on a somewhat busy lunch-time, weekday meal did take longer than it should - but there was only one waitress working all the tables. In a very small town with a varying amount of people driving through or Appalachian Trail hikers, I would guess it is hard to know day-to-day how much foot traffic there will be, but the restaurant owner may want to rethink having the ability to bring in another wait staff when needed. The food - for us a spinach salad with chicken and a fried chicken sandwich - came out properly prepared and tasted good. A soy/honey mustard dressing for the salad and my potato salad side were also hits. This restaurant has the skills to do good food - they would improve with additional service staff capability. A bonus to eating in Hot Springs is the aptly named 1800's era Hot Springs Hotel and Spa about a quarter mile or less north of downtown where you can get a massage and/or a mineral bath to wash away the stress of waiting too long for your meal.

We liked this little restaurant! The food was great and the entertainment was really good! The portions were more than I could eat but my husband had no problem. If we are ever in Hot Springs again we will definately stop here again. Check it out!
