Great location on the beach. 3rd floor gives great ocean views. No elevator, so if you have bad knees choose another location. I had a suite, which entailed a kitchen, for eating in a saving money for eating out. Flat screen television located in kitchen approximately 32". Ironing board and iron located in between kitchen and bedroom. Open closet no doors, not many hangers though. Bedroom had two double beds. Clean sheets and 4 pillows. Flat screen television located in bedroom. Two different air conditioning units, one in kitchen area and one in bedroom. Room always was nice and cool. Bathroom was small. Shower curtain not big enough to stop water from going on the floor. Every time someone took a shower water was all over the floor. Shower head did have good pressure with different options of hard and soft water. Great for washing hair. Water was always hot, which made for a great shower after the beach. Complimentary breakfast every morning from 6:30 to 9:30. Waffles, cereal, oatmeal, toast, raisin bread, egg and cheese omelette, juice, milk, water and coffee. Coffee wasn't that great. I recommend to go early. After 8:00 am it is way to busy and normally no place to sit or eat. Waffles were wonderful. Pool was available, but never used. I wasn't here for the pool. Parking a little tight if you have a large vehicle like I did. I recommend to park on the gravel. Spaces are a little more accommodating. Hotel offered picnic tables outside approximately 4 to eat outside. Nice area to sit and enjoy. Grass was plush and green. The front desk was very pleasant and helpful. They allowed a late checkout. Room was ready much earlier than 4. Checked in at 2. I am consistent visitor of OBX and this was the first time I stayed in Kill Devil Hills. I normally stay in Hatteras or nagshead. I was not pleased with the beach area. Much smaller than I am used to. Hattaras is much larger and you are not surrounded by tons of people. If you are looking for peace and quiet than I recommend to go further down towards Hattaras. This was a quick reservation.

Future reference I would not stay here again due to beach area. Hotel was sufficient and would recommend for a quick couple of days stay, but not a week.

Thank you for coming to the Outer Banks over and over--we all appreciate it! It's really great when we get folks who return year after year that love the Outer Banks so much. We appreciate your taking the time to write a review of your stay at the Mariner. And just for your information, the beach for the town of Kill Devil Hills will become like the beach in south Nags Head with an anticipated time period in 2016--the town of Kill Devil Hills is scheduled (right now) to have beach nourishment begin sometime during that year. We hope you will continue to come to the Outer Banks and thank you! Tonia

Great location on ocean front! There are 2 buildings, the "Mariner" is on the ocean side, the other building is across the street.
Mariner is an older hotel with outside corridors with steps. No elevators! Rooms were "fairly" clean, but in need of a good cleaning and updating. Bathroom small with toilet, shower tub. Vanity lavatory is outside the bathroom. Weak continental breakfast, waffle iron, bread, powdered eggs, cereal, yogurt & fruit. Older swimming pool, fairly clean. Hotel staff in lobby were very friendly and accommodating.
Best asset is proximity to the ocean.

Room Tip: NO Elevator. There are 2 buildings, ask for the ocean side building. Back corridor rooms face the...

Thank you for your recent trip to the Outer Banks. We appreciate your coming and visiting with us. The breakfast program we feature is what is required by Days Inn and just as an aside, the egg omelets are not powdered like the powdered scrambled eggs you get from our compatriots. The Mariner II building is actually the building across the street from the ocean on the pond. Most people consider the "main" building the 3 story building in which you discussed and then we actually have another 2 story building on the oceanfront as well. We hope you will visit the Outer Banks again and thank you for coming. Thank you, Tonia
