“A lot of bang for the buck, especially with kids”
Reviewed 27 November 2013

Is this the best aquarium I have ever visited? No. But it hits the balance point between price and variety just right. My kids loved all the exhibits, and the adults especially enjoyed the albino alligator and the centerpiece of the aquarium, the Cape Fear shoals exhibit. Be sure you check the website and see the Dialog with a Diver presentation.

“A must see in Kure Beach Area”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

If you are in the Kure Beach/Fort Fisher area, you should spend the time to see this aquarium. It isn't the biggest, but it is well run, educational and interesting for almost anyone. Not just for the kids, at least in my opinion.
Also, the aquarium is part of the NC Zoo system (double check my on this as things can always change), so you can buy a membership that is good for a year and that gets you in to all the NC aquariums and zoos. I think it pays for itself in 2-3 uses.

“Fun aquarium”
Reviewed 14 November 2013

Stopped here while visiting Ft. Fisher and it was a great find. The staff were excellent, very friendly and happy to take time to talk about the animals. They had divers in their large tank that were talking with the visitors for some live Q&A about the animals as they swam around them. It was pretty cool to see and they did a great job of having enough info for the adults to be interested, but at a level the kids could understand. Very reasonably priced and a real fun excursion

“Cute visit”
Reviewed 12 November 2013

I can't believe that someone wrote that they thought it was expensive for admittance! It was well worth the price and although its small its packed with information and exhibits. We visited with four adults and four kids ranging in age from 1 1/2 - 13 and there was something for everyone. It's worth the visit.

“Small and Reasonably Priced”
Reviewed 2 November 2013

While visting Wilmington we decided to make the short drive about 30min drive including traffic time. The Aquarium itself is small but the tanks are very clean and there's a diverse group of marine life with lots of hands on activities. The cost of admission is reasonably priced at just $8 a ticket. The staff is very friendly. While there you can pet sharks, horse shoe crabs, and sting rays. The aquarium is great for any age group.
