“Quiet except for the ocean”

There was no charge to walk the pier in the early evening. We just took a quiet walk on the pier and overlook downtown and the ocean

“Great for ocean viewing”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

No charge to walk the pier unless you are fishing. Wonderful views. Wish it were a little cleaner, but it IS a fishing spot!
Shop has touristy things for sale, some snacks and ice cream as well as fishing supplies.

“The way it should be”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

If paying for noise, glitter, scented rooms and beach prices is one's idea of coming to the beach, then this is not the place to visit. Down here the parking is still free...advice, warm and personal...strolling out to beyond the waves, no charge...friendly pelicans seemingly positioned for best shot and a view fit for anyone's post card..."selfie" or not, they are always catching a few and if you think it's great now, you "should have been here yesterday". There's always room for a few more.

“Love Kure Beach and Pier!”
Reviewed 11 April 2014

Since residing down here for little over a year this is the only pier that I go too. I absolutely love Kure Beach and going to the pier especially during fishing season. Never had any problem with parking. If you cant park right next to pier go back up to the intersection and crossover and park along where Big Daddys is. Its free. When its a nice day its enjoying to take a stroll up the pier and sit at the end watching the peliquins trying to grab the fish the fisherman catch...taking in the views up and down the beach. If you are there at the right time you can look over and see a shark waiting for the fisherman to clean their fish. They circle under the pier. You can rent a pole and buy bait and a license right there in the pier store which you must go through to get onto the pier. There is also beaches and "swings" to sit on along the road next to the pier. Theres a beautiful walkway to stroll along and an outdoor Amphitheater there where they play live music and have a farmers market in season. Check out www.kurebeachfishingpier.com and also www.townofkurebeach.org for info. FYI right down the street is Fort Fisher, Civil War Musem and Aquarium. So much to do and enjoy!
