This was our second trip to The Lodge on Lake Lure. This time was to celebrate our 46th wedding
Anniversary and would not have wanted to stay anywhere else but this lovely B & B. The staff was very gracious and helpful during our 4 day stay. Our room (the fortune cookie) had a private covered deck, and outstanding views of the peaceful lake lure. We would and do recommend the wonderful lodge on lake lure to anyone wanting a quiet, peaceful and relaxing experience.

The trip here was a surprise from my husband and he did great. The views of the lake are great and the breakfast was wonderful--Carolina French toast--WOW. We stayed in the Mellow Yellow room which had a large bathroom and a fireplace. It was very clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and service oriented. We will be back.

We actually found a one night special on Expedia and turned it into a three night, four day stay. The breakfast was wonderful. The afternoon wine was splendid and the evening sweets were tantalizing. The room was first class, the bathroom amenities were great and the bed was awesome! The private balcony topped of the evening for a glass of Wild Turkey and a good cigar.

The Lodge at Lake Lure was the perfect spot to base our exploration of the area, especially Asheville, where we wanted to do some exploring to find a future retirement location. We rented a pontoon boat at the local marina, about three minutes from the Lodge, and spend a leisurely afternoon fishing and swimming and touring Lake Lure.

Staff were helpful, accommodating and warm. The Lodge on Lake Lure is the perfect hideaway. It's perfect for a stay at the lake or for a base-camp to explore the region.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Roman Holiday room. Nice view from the balcony.

Very noisy, could here people walking on the floor over us, no microwave, no coffee until 8:00, shower was broken, no fresh towels. The ice bucket had mold with old water in it. The table next to the bed was full of dust. I have traveled all over the world and when you pay $300.00 plus a night I expect a lot more than what we got. We were very disappointed. The cooks were the most polite people there, the office did not open until 9:00. Don't waste your money.

We stayed at the lodge for 4 nights. The accommodations are first rate and the decor gives you the feeling and comfort of a true mountain lodge. Many rooms have a private balcony and overlook Lake Lure. The room was well appointed and exceptionally clean. We had dinner at the lodge's Tree Top Restaurant and the service and food were excellent. All the staff were very friendly and attentive to our slightest needs. Overall, our stay was about as good as it gets. Extras included in the room rate are breakfast and wine and appetizers in the early evening. We will certainly return in the future and highly recommend this establishment. In addition, there are plenty of things to do in the area.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have a private balcony and a direct lake view. The balcony and lake view add to the en...

We stayed in this inn years ago, it changed owners and was shut down for a long time for renovations, so we strayed away. Tried it again this year and were quite pleased. Staff friendly and professional. Room was clean and well furnished. It was a bit noisy because of a vent in the hall but this was no major problem. Good appetizers and wine in the evening is the gathering room. We recommend dinner here, the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast is provided.

The Lodge itself is gorgeous. Loved the true Lodge feel. Breakfast was fantastic and you can make reservations for dinner if you want to stick around the lodge. We didn't have dinner here - but spent just as much at Larkins on the Lake and the service at Larkins wasn't great and the food probably wasn't as good either - so I would make a reservation for dinner there if you can. We stayed two nights. The first breakfast was omelets and the second was your choice of French toast or eggs benedict. There are appetizers between 5 and 6pm, along with a complimentary glass of wine. The lodge has a boat house with 2 canoes for your use. We really enjoyed canoeing on the lake. We stayed in Mellow Yellow. It was a nice room located with several other rooms separate from the main lodge. The only complaints I have are that there is no fridge available for you to store any cold items. You have to bring a cooler and ask them to fill it with ice. While the staff is delightful and will fill the cooler with ice for you, it is a bit of a pain and not as trusty as a fridge with items like mayo or milk. The other complaint is that Mellow Yellow has a door that connects it to the barn room. It is well locked, but you can hear just about everything that happens in the room next door and the couple in the next room attempted to open the door a few times. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our anniversary stay at the Lodge and would visit again.

Room Tip: Try to choose a room that does not have a connecting door with another room and a room that is on th...
