This was by far the best weekend get away we have ever had!!!!!The cabin was beautifully and completely decorated and had all amenities we could have needed. There were few restaurants open in the off season, but it didn't matter. We hiked and visited several waterfall areas. Then went back to teh bear cave cabin and cooked. It was an amazing surprise when it started snowing! Waking up to several inches covering the ground was the perfect addition to the weekend. We didn't bring our dogs, but will next time. The comfort and coziness of the cabin was so inviting. We can't wait to return!

This is by far the best cabin rental we have every made. Tucked away in the mountains, surrounded by mountain laurel and peace and quiet. Grab your groceries on the way up and prepare to spend a weekend enjoying the sounds of nature and the cozy cabin atmosphere. If you have a canine family member they are welcome too. And if you don't you wouldn't even know canine family members have been there. It's just that perfect!!

My husband and I stayed at fox hole and absolutely loved it! Everything was perfect and super clean. We loved that it was secluded but not too far out of the way. My husband enjoyed the grill on the porch even in January. We will definitely be back in the summer to enjoy the hiking and fire pit.

We rented Racoon Loft for 3 nights during the week between Christmas and New Years. It was too warm for skiing or ice climbing but too cold for most other outdoor stuff, but we still had a blast. Great beds, high threadcount sheets, and soft blankets mean no excuse for a good night's sleep. It is immaculately clean even in off-season and seemed almost new. Everything works on the first shot - the gas fireplace, the satellite TV, the well-appointed kitchen, the hot water, so it hardly feels like roughing it. There is a really neat nature trail with forts, a treehouse, and hidey holes that kids will love, and a meadow with two friendly goats and a more wary donkey to which the kids can feed carrots and apples. The entire site was festooned with Christmas lights and decorations. The owners obviously put some love in this place. We will be back, next time with all our kids.

Now, for the remote, rustic part. You are less than a half hour from every possible mountain sport and truly awesome waterfall hiking. Leave your laptop and smartphone at home because the cell service is spotty (one of our cell phones could transit text messages, but that was it) and I am pretty sure there is no wireless either. This left time for more old-fashioned pursuits like reading books, watching movies (together) and playing Monopoly - sigh! Family paradise. However, a few members of our party started to experience electronics withdrawal and an emergency trip into Brevard was made to upload movies on Kindle, check email, and make phone calls.

Important tip: do not attempt to find this place in the dark. Forget about the GPS on your cell phone (even if it finds a signal, the directions will be inaccurate) and print out the directions on the website, and follow them slavishly. Even so, the roads are beyond curvy and you will be doing your best to avoid running off the road, so employ a full-time navigator past Lake Toxaway. Although we had no problem finding Lake Toxaway at midnight, it took an additional hour for us to find the Foxes because we misread our partially transcribed directions and kept missing signs that looked pretty obvious in the light of day. Leave early, enjoy the views, and avoid the relationship drama that results from trying to find this place after midnight.

Oh, and the kitchen is really well kitted out. Bring all the food you need, but pots and pans and everything else is more than covered.

Room Tip: Raccoon Loft -- good for a max of 4 people/2 couples but too small for more.

We really enjoyed our stay at Fox Hole at the Cabins at 7 Foxes. This was our first stay at these cabins, but certainly won't be our last. The cabin was warm, cozy, comfortable, and well-equipped. It was very clean. So many waterfalls, so little time.

Long travel to grocery is the only drawback, but we knew that going in.

This was my fourth visit to Seven Foxes. My niece and I were only able to stay for the weekend, but we had a great time. The cabin is absolutely charming. The living room is spacious and comfortable, with a fabulous fireplace. The bedroom is beautiful, with a wonderful window and an antique wardrobe. We love to hike and Seven Foxes is a great base for a hiking vacation. The weather was perfect with just a hint of chill in the evening. Sapphire Mountain Brewing Company was a great find for dinner after a hard day of hiking. Whether you want an outdoor vacation or just want to relax, you won't be disappointed by Seven Foxes.

We had a wonderful time staying in our own cabin in 7 Foxes. It was soooo cozy and clean and well stocked. I wish that I could have stayed longer. The trails and waterfalls are beautiful and the small towns nearby are fun to go antique shopping. There are restaurants nearby that were great for breakfast or dinner. The best part of the trip was waking up to snow falling. Can't wait to go back. Debbie
