Southwyck Farm is out in the country--WAY out in the country! If you need a peaceful atmosphere to relax, this is it! I have rented the cottage twice. It is no cottage, it is a BIG house with every amenity imaginable. You can't go wrong with Southwyck!

Room Tip: I would select the cottage since the price is only slightly higher than a room.

My girlfriend and I recently visited Southwyck Farm and had an amazing time! After spending the day at Hanging Rock State Park, we grabbed dinner in nearby Danbury and took the 20 minute drive to the Bed and Breakfast in Lawsonville. The house is beautiful with antiques from all over the world. If you're staying in the main house, there are three bedrooms (one with a private bath and two that share a bathroom). The rooms are extremely clean with freshly washed sheets and towels. The bed was also very comfortable, much better than any hotel I've ever stayed in. There is even a nice living room in between the bedrooms that's full of games, books, and movies.

In the morning you're treated to breakfast. Everything was delicious and we were even allowed to choose much of the meal when we arrived the night before. The bed and breakfast owner is very sweet and interesting; we probably spent an hour or so talking and sharing stories after breakfast.

All in all this is a great Bed and Breakfast and I would recommend it to anyone visiting nearby Hanging Rock/Pilot Mountain or just looking to get away for a quiet weekend.

My husband and I decided on a last minute getaway and with our schedules it is difficult to plan ahead, we called at the last minute and Diana and her husband were both very friendly and said it was OK to arrive late (it was a six hour drive). We arrived late and were greeted by their friendly dog who took us right to the door, the room was comfortable and Diana stayed up late for us. We got up in the morning and had a great breakfast and wonderful conversation with them both. They are well traveled and very interesting the Bed and Breakfast is filled with amazing antiques that have been handed down from generation to generation and kept in perfect condition. You can leave your worries behind and relax completely. We only wish we would have had more time to spend in the gardens or outside on the deck. We hope to come back when we can stay longer. We only had one night and than we were off to Hanging Rock State Park only 12 miles away. They gave us great directions and tips on the area. We left and headed out for a wonderful day hiking and enjoyed the waterfalls and beautiful scenery of the entire area. Thank you both for welcoming us and we will recommend you to all and hope to come back soon!
