The Candy Factory is NOT your average candy shop although they do sell candy and plenty of it. A huge assortment of delicious chocolates are kept in a glass case, there is something for every kind of chocoholic including really good sugar free pieces. You get to choose the kinds you want to fill up your box, nothing is pre-wrapped. Don't want chocolates? There is every type of penny candy going back to your childhood and that mean a long way back to mine. Candy is also found in huge wooden kegs so you can grab a handful of this, a handful of that and fill up your bag and here again, it's from your childhood as well as the current gummy bear favorites.
This is a shop to reminisce in, to wander back in time as even the building is an antique. The wooden floors creak as you move around and the walls are filled with racks of small hand held toys also from your childhood. There is a back room that is a favorite hidey hole of mine as it really does turn me into a kid again. There are all sorts of old games like Candyland (of course), dolls and my favorite - books. Last time I was in I purchased 5 of the Bobbsey Twin books to send to my niece, I haven't seen those books since I was young enough to read them. This is a store where you can find an atmosphere that screams antique but the candy is today fresh.
