My fiance and i researched Maggie Valley motels for a room with a whirlpool tub, for the weekend after Valentine's Day. We settled on the Ramada because most things were booked already. We had requested a smoking room as we both are smokers, I'm always nervous about that cause I don't want a room that reeks of smoke. But ours was fine. There was no detectable odor, and our room was very large and clean. Our whirlpool was heavenly, the shower in the bathroom had a wonderful adjustable showerhead. Our bed was also very nice, a bit more firm than i like. But my fiance loved it! The only noticeable issue in the room was small cigarette burns on the comforter. That was not a big issue for me. The continental breakfast was nice; cereal assortment, pastries, and a waffle maker. The staff constantly restocked items that were low. The indoor heated pool and jacuzzi were being used during our stay. We didn't have time to try them out but the people we saw enjoyed it. All units have a cute balcony with a couple of chairs. The location is really convienent for Tube World and Cataloochee. We went to Harrahs the 2nd night of our stay, and it's only about a 15 minute drive from the hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back have a balcony on Johnathon Creek.

Stayed here 31 Jan 2012, I accidentally reserved for the 30th online and was appropriately charged for my missed night. Cathy, the desk clerk and the hotel were VERY helpful and went out of their way to make sure I was taken care even though the mistake was made by me. I travel about 200 nights a year on business and this was one of the cleanest rooms I have stayed in recent memory. Thank you Cathy!

Room Tip: Ask for Cathy!

Staying for 2 nights and tonight is the second night. Rooms and bathrooms are clean but ice machine and coin machine are broken on the top floor. Pool and hot tub work fine but the bathroom for the pool is very... rusted. There is one light per bathroom and its recessed above the sink so its not the easiest to see when taking a shower and there isn't a vent fan in the bathroom either so take your showers with the door cracked or open. Only other negative point so far is the TV remote remote doesn't work in this room.

We spent the weekend of January 13 - 16 here and found it to be good experience. Nothing outstanding, but good. We didn't do much, but sleep here as we spent most of our time exploring the surrounding area. BE WARNED...If you spend time here in the winter months to ASK the front desk if you will be spending time with various youth groups that come to the area to ski. We encountered a very large group of Middle/High School kids that were on such a trip. Their chaperones didn't seem to be concerned that they were loud, obnoxious, and rude. When we mentioned it to the front desk staff their response was... "we see it a lot and the chaperones are usually gone to the casino (in Cherokee)...Not much help to those of us who are trying to sleep. Overall - not a bad place to stay. Clean. Comfortable. Just not all that friendly or helpful at the front desk.

Our room was clean, plenty of towels, and a decent breakfast. Good rates! Our grandkids like the indoor pool. The creekside rooms are the best if available.

Room Tip: Ask for a creekside room nice and peacefulzX

The hotel itself was not the primary focus of our trip, but I believe its write-up fairly represented its features & amenities. All of our needs & expectations were met while we were there, and I would not hesitate to return at some point in the future, or to recommend this hotel to others who might be traveling in the area. The staff was very helpful, and our stay was quite peaceful.

Room Tip: Get a "creekside" room -- definitely!
