My wife and I live in Aiken, South Carolina and we needed to get away from stress, work, etc. We love going to the mountains but we did not know where we wanted to go. We vacillated between Maggie Valley, Asheville, and the surrounding nearby areas. I actually booked a hotel in Hendersonville near Asheville but then my wife discovered Five Star Inn in Maggie Valley. So, I canceled my reservation with the other hotel and made a reservation with Five Star Inn. What was neat is that I did not have to go through push this number, then push this number, etc. I reached the manager of the hotel right off. I made the reservation and then the weekend came (first weekend in November) and we were on our way. Around 7:30 while still in route, the hotel called us to confirm that we were still coming. I said that we were and they helped in providing clear directions. We got there and because it was after the "coming to see the fall leaves" season, there were ample rooms. We booked a room in the back next to a stream. Very mountainesque like because we were in the mountains! The stream made it nice. The room was aged, but very clean. It did not offer huge amenities but we didn't go there for the amenities. We went to get away and see the mountains and Asheville. The manager and one staff, already forgot his name, very friendly, "earthy" people-meaning like your next door neighbor-good country type folk helped us with what we needed. The room again, nothing that you would find in the Hilton but exactly what we needed! The only negative is that the bottom of the shower curtain was needing to be changed out. Other than that-very fine and enjoyable place and for the weekend, we got great rates. I will definitely be telling others about this place and now I have a place that I would be able to call "like home" only after a few visits. In fact, last Wednesday, November 27, we were back up in the area to buy a Christmas tree and to chase the snow! I came very close to staying one night but that would have put us there on Thanksgiving. We had family we needed to get back to! But, this is a place where I will most assuredly stay again! I repeat: not a Hilton but everything that you would want in a warm, clean-though aged, very friendly place!

Room Tip: Stay in the back area where the stream is. You can open the sliding glass doors and hearing the str...

This place was clean and cozy. The facility is in the middle of everything. The place is older but has been updated. The rooms are small but clean. The bed was big and comfy. The bath was clean but small. I was very satisfied with the accommodations. The front desk was very friendly and helpful. We were on motorcycles and this place catered to us! The provided towels to wipe off the bikes after the rain. We will be scheduling another trip to the area and will stay here again.

We'd visited this inn when it was known as Country Manner and had a wonderful visit then and were very curious to see how the new ownership would affect the place. I am happy to say, the place is just as inviting and "like home" as it was if not more so! The new owner, Joe gave us the tour of the revamped back garden and showed us the cabin and creekside rooms for future bookings. We had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and we love sitting on the rocking chairs after a long day on the bike to watch the traffic go by. We will be back! Thanks Joe and congrats to you and your wife Jan on your new place.

I came up to The Five Star Inn for a ladies weekend. The room was great with a creek side balcony and rocking chairs. The staff were excellent and the location was perfect! I will stay again next time I am in Maggie Valley.

We stayed here for Four nights and really enjoyed the place. The rooms were clean and comfortable and spacious. The guys at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. The motel also offered a place to clean our motorcycles and provided towels and rags to do so. We will stay here again.

Room Tip: No one at the front desk till 9am and no one after 9pm.

We stayed at Five Star Inn for the first time and were very pleased. We made a Maggie Valley trip spur of the moment. We just stopped pot luck to check on a room because the appearance on the outside was very appealing. We were greeted by two young men that were very friendly and accommodating. They showed us the room first and then explained the area nicely. We decided to stay an extra night and they were accommodating with that as well. Could not have asked for a better place to stay for the money. We would definitely stay again if in the area! NO complaints (other than rain)!!!
