“Love Love Love This Place”

This place is excellent for family camping. They have tons of activities and things to do for everyone in your group. Including an arcade, pool, waterslide, mini golf. They also have planned daily activities including arts and craft, character meet and greets, etc. They also have a grill and ice cream bar, with great choices for snacks for the little ones as well as the older ones. This was a great place to visit. I can't wait to go back,

Ok, if you are a kid, it doesn't get any better, probably. There are nearly constant activities for them and the hosts are very kid and family friendly and seem to enjoy their jobs. There was a GREAT waterslide and a very nice pool that went to 9 feet. Nice to see a deep pool for a change. The water slide is old school and FAST. Very fun for grownups or kids. The snack bar is really clean and has a good variety of food. Kids get rewards of stamps and coins for activities which they can trade in for prizes. (Some activities have a charge, though.) Nice office and store. Small but sufficient.

On the down side, the first thing a kid in our party said was "That lake is nasty." I have to admit it pretty much was. Very muddy and a disgusting brown lumpy (not like any algae I have ever seen) covering it. There we areas of stagnant water in coves etc that were very off putting. There are drainage areas around it where guests have to constantly jump over a very muddy area. Even if they put a board over it to walk on it would be an improvement. The mini golf was wet and muddy and didn't appear to be kept up well. Bath house. Two showers and two toilets on my side of the campground. Found out that there was another one on a way far high hill, and went to see if it was cleaner than mine which had black mold growing in it and stank. Very insufficient bath facilities I think. I also did not like the lyrics of some of the songs that were playing at this family facility. Loud music at the pool which I was probably the only one who noticed, but I don't like my small children hearing things like "you're lookin so dam# hot, " etc.

Im giving it a very good for the staff and schedule for the kids, but a few improvements would help tremendously.

Oh, they appear to have a lot of repeat campers.

If you have kids you'll likely love it.

Room Tip: The high road has the cleaner bath house and is on gravel so not so muddy. Near the pavilion.

Hello!! And thank you so much for posting! Great feedback - glad the kids and family enjoyed the trip. With the Lake/drainage/mini golf - the volume of water this year has been intense 25/30 days in July - must be a record! :) and most of this is reflexive of this - as dry days present themselves we look to pretty this area up. We will take a look at the bathhouse elements you noted - thank you for the kind comments on our staff and activities :)

Bear Hugs,

Alex aka "Running Bear"

We had a great two night stay. We camped on tent site T-10 which was nice because it was further away from any traffic areas. We had four adults, an 8 yr old, a 5 yr old, and two 3 yr old's. Because our site only had one site above it and zero traffic we did not have to be overly concerned about the little ones playing. The activities were fantastic!!!! We thoroughly enjoyed the dance party and the carnival games. I was very skeptical when we booked this trip because we have only ever camped literally out in the woods where you have to hike or paddle to the campsite. But with the children this was the perfect location. We purchased a wrist band that allowed us access to water slide, paddle boats, and putt putt.

To top it all off Yogi Bear visited our campsite the morning we were packing up.

We are planning on making this an annual trip.

Awesome!!! We went for two nights to celebrate our son's 5th birthday and he had so much fun! He is telling everyone about it and we already have friends talking about making reservations. The staff were all really great and it means so much more to see the Garcia's involved and making a real effort with the guests! Once the staff met our son they ALWAYS used his name (and we saw Running Bear a lot, so there were plenty of opportunities for him to forget, but he didn't). On our last day there was so much rain, but it was great to see how things were being adjusted around to keep it enjoyable for everyone. Saturday morning was nice because we were the only ones with Cindy Bear and Happy Feet for about 10 minutes while the rain poured down and our son was able to do the Chicken Dance with just them.

We absolutely cannot wait to go again! We camp at Fort Wilderness in Disney once a year when we visit family and while we don't have any complaints about FW, the staff at Jellystone were 100x's friendlier and more personable than the staff members are at FW - and that says a lot because Disney's staff members (in all of our 11 years of going) have all been very friendly! Lord willing, we will be visiting Jellystone in Marion a lot in the future!

Had a very good time, plenty of activities for the kids (some at extra charge) but almost nonstop things to do. All facilities were clean and keep up. If any complaint can be said is the fact that the area has had almost two weeks of rain and there were some drainage issues and muddy places. Again that isn't the norm and wouldn't stop me from returning. All staff that was encountered were extremely nice and helpful.

Until this trip, our families only camping experience had been an annual friends reunion at Disney's Fort Wilderness. When leaving Jellystone, my 8 year old daughter said "Wow, that place is awesome, we should bring everyone here instead of FW next year!" When I asked her what she liked better she said the activities. They always had fun stuff to do. I would have to agree. They know how to keep the kids entertained. Everyone loved the location of the cmpground. We loved hiking grandfather mountain trails, and whitewater rafting! Great family trip! Thanks Jellystone.

Rained the whole trip but we still enjoyed every minute of our stay. The Garcia's made sure they went above and beyond to make sure , despite the rain, that everyone had a great time. We have already booked for July 4th 2014!!! Really enjoyed Happy Feet's message at the Sunday morning service!
