“Beautiful property”

A long weekend getaway. Very well kept property with hiking trails.Loved having the owner's dog walk with us! Stayed at the Bimini Twist one night, and The Reach 2. Comfortable beds, linens, stocked kitchen. Spent the evenings in the hot tub. The last night we had a steak dinner catered to the cabin- delicious, private, romantic. The cabins are secluded and there is obvious effort to dampen the environmental footprint-luxury and nature at its best.

Room Tip: The Reach is on one of the hiking trails. Bimini Twist was better for stargazing from the hot tub.Th...

This is a wonderful private get away. 6 cabins and the owner's beautiful home sit on 90+ acres which makes true privacy achievable. We stayed in the Outrigger which is probably one of the most private cabins on the property as it sits by itself up a pretty steep hill. However all the cabins are spaced well apart and you can't see one from another. As other reviewers have mentioned the owners are very accommodating. Our cabin was clean and tidy and very comfortable. Best features: 1) Jerry Lee -he's awesome. Great tour guide to take you on a hike around the property. 2) The bread - just wait, even you non bread eaters will love this stuff. 3) Peace and Quit. 4) Privacy. 5) No cell phone service or Wi-Fi - I find this to be a true plus for a great, relaxing get away. The phone calls and emails CAN wait. 6) Beautiful scenery and property. 7) Caterer-see below!!
Two helpful notes: First, if staying in Outrigger would be best to be in AWD vehicle. F250 had no problems getting up there but could be problematic for car low to ground/sportscar. Second, I highly recommend ordering in one night. They have a caterer who will make you anything you want and will bring it to your cabin complete with tablecloth and fine china. Our meal was beyond delicious. Some sort of yummy avocado salad followed by an absolutely wonderful seafood pasta dish with scallops, shrimp and lobster. And then a chocolate mousse desert. This is a true romantic splurge, but was so worth it.

We just returned from a quick stay at Spring House Farm. This ECO friendly escape is 40 minutes or so from Asheville but like another world. The cabin was so comfortable and so well stocked. Everything was crisp and clean. I didn't get the "bread thing" until I picked it up (warm) and had to smell it all the way back on my walk. It didn't last long and we were in it. Once you try, you'll "get it" too! The owners and their staff are so friendly and helpful. We have been in the hospitality business for over 20 years and not often blown away when we travel - we were this time!

The cabins -- there are only six of them -- are beautiful. Real wooden floors. Log ceilings with wood beans. Comfortable furniture; outdoor hot tub, barbecue grill, rope bed in the sun room. Zee and Arthur Campbell make every effort to make your stay wonderful; they even volunteered to plow out the path to the cabin in January for us; we declined their offer. Cabin has one concession to the 21st century -- an XM cable radio. If you stay with the 1940s channels, and read the 1940s original vintage magazines, you really feel like you're back in the 1940s. This is the ultimate get-away. No cell phone service, so leave them in the suitcase. Just enjoy the quiet and privacy and the trees and the trail. We're going back in July, and can't wait.

My husband and I stayed here for our 20th anniversary. It was a wonderful trip. We stayed in the Bimini Twist cottage, and loved it. We bought groceries in town, and cooked in the kitchen. It was well appointed enough that we had everything we needed to cook. The homemade bread was delicious! We ate it with the fresh eggs, fresh, local honey and some cheese we brought along. The hot tub worked well, and it was so peaceful at the cabin. We enjoyed talking to the owners - they were friendly and helpful. The grounds were nice, and we spent some time walking along the path and down by the ponds. The only negative was the bed - it dipped in the middle and was slightly uncomfortable. But everything, and I mean everything else was fantastic! We can't wait to go back!

If you are looking for a place to unwind the Cottages at Spring House Farm is the perfect solution. The owners Arthur and Zee will do all they can to make your visit memorable and enjoyable. You are greeted when you arrive by Jerry Lee their very friendly dog. (on a side note, some of the cottages are pet friendly.) They provided home made bread, fresh eggs, local honey and jam. All this and a wonderful view too. Who could ask for more? Each visit we find something new. The lack of cell phone reception is a welcome break from the every day world. This place is a hidden gem in the mountains of North Carolina.

Stayed in rustic and authentically restored pioneer house with country side view. Enjoyed the daily homemade bread and rich farm fresh eggs. Owners are quite helpful and accommodating. The Appalacian House permits pets which we totally appreciated and our dog had a blast playing with the the owner's friendly dog, Jerry Lee. The kitchen is minimally appointed which made cooking a challenge though not impossible. The hot tub was great on the cold mornings and evenings.
