Trip Advisor brought us to this restaurant but the food and Dirt, the owner, brought us back for a second visit. Little to ad to the other reviews about the food and pricing except to say, thank you to the previous reviewers. Only a handful of restaurants seem to be open in November on Monday in Nags Head and fortunately, Armstongs was one.

We found Armstrongs on Tripadvisior, and boy are we glad we did. In fact,I'm a little reluctant to post this review, because the place is fairly small to begin with, and if too many people find this hidden gem, it will become very hard to get a place to sit! We both ordered the fried shrimp, and I had slaw and broccoli with cheese, while she had slaw and corn on the cob. Everything was simply as good as it gets. The large order of shrimp came very lightly breaded(hardly any),nice size, and firm and tasty. We had good cocktail sauce, and their "yum-yum" sauce was also good with the shrimp. Dirk made it a fun evening and with super good seafood, this is a real find. We have one more night before we go home, and i wouldn't be shocked if we didn't go back for another dinner. For sure,we'll be here the next time we visit Nags Head.

We discovered Armstrongs just this year and we've been there three times on two visits to the Outer Banks. The food is very good - the fried shrimp coming close to the best I've had. The shrimp are lightly breaded and easily two-bites large, with nice dense white meat and fried just right. The French fries and corn nuggets were also very good.

The price on the day we hit the fried shrimp special was phenomenal -- all for just $9.99 -- and that at the Outer Banks which is known for higher prices. The dinner is usually just $11.99, so even when it's not the special of the day, the price is still very affordable and I dare you to find a better price anywhere in the resort area.

One thing to note is that the restaurant is very small. We always arrive early for dinner -- before 5:30pm and we can usually get the only real table with room for possibly 6 people. The other five tables are the tall variety with tall chairs, and there's also counter seating and some outdoor seating. All of this should indicate that this is a very casual restaurant. There are three televisions in this small restaurant, but the sound was down so they didn't bother us.

Armstrongs has been in business now for three summers and they are getting a name for themselves because of the high quality of food and low prices. Drop by and enjoy!

The food here is like the best mom ever made. Started with the owner opening the door for us

Place is a seafood restaurant and VERY casual seating area. At the waiter/owners suggestion started with corn crab chowder. Isometric of the best we ever had

Totally enjoyed our fried fish, crab cake - without any filler and the best coconut shrimp. Hush puppies come with or without onions.

If this was a place with china prices would have bee doubled.

Cook came out to check on us.

Great food ivy dedicated owners. In a strip mall - but you don't eat the surroundings.

A fun and tasty lunch. Fun because the owner are hilarious and tasty, because my shrimp sandwich was delish and the shrimp perfectly cooked. Wish we had a longer trip so we could go back and enjoy the dinner options. Don't be put off by the strip mall location, really a great place! Go Yum Yum with the sauce!
