“A delightful tour”
Reviewed 3 April 2014

You don't even have to have an interest in fire houses to enjoy this tour! It is a tribute to New Bern to save this history and give everyone a chance to learn about the Fire Department. Admission is only $5 per person - and very worth the donation!

“very interesting”

This is the smallest museum I have ever been in, but the guide was great and very informative. This is worth a look if you have time.

We are people in our 70's who think this is a fun place to visit. . There are nice people there to tell you all about it and a wonderful talking horse.

“Very interesting museum”

One of the first fire companies in NC. The history of the great fire of 1922 is very interesting. Be sure to see the preserved famous horse! Open limited hours.

“Great Learning Experience”
Reviewed 28 August 2013

We visited the Fireman's Museum on a recent visit to New Bern. Andy was our guide and he did a wonderful job of explaining the history of firefighting equipment and how it pertained to New Bern. We got to see the old steamer fire engines, some dating back to the Model-T days.

I would recommend this as a place to visit while in New Bern. It is very educational. One of the most interesting things was learning about the Great Fire of New Bern in 1922. Even though I am a resident of North Carolina, I had no knowledge of this tragic fire. Now that I have visited the Fireman's Museum, I know all about. A must stop when in New Bern.
