Was in New Bern for the first time, on business. Both the hotel and client recommended The Chelsea as the #1 spot to hit first. Our team of 7 walked over from the hotel - restaurant is easily located. Everyone shared and enjoyed appetizers: pulled pork potato skins, bacon wrapped scallops, fried green tomatoes. I also ordered a starter of the Cream of Crab soup. All starters were incredible. My entrée was the shrimp and grits, a very popular menu item judging by the slogan displayed on the shirts being worn by staff. Unbelievably delicious. Everyone at the table had a wonderful experience - portions are plentiful and food is truly southern - rich and hearty. Atmosphere and service was top notch. If you like southern food and non-chain restaurants, this is the place. Plenty of options, and features seafood, steak, chicken, and pork. Prices very reasonable - high end menu for mid-range price.
