We visited the Islander for planning our wedding and to see if the place looks like the pictures on the website. To our pleasant surprise it does. It was a little windy and rainy when we first arrived and our last two days the sun begin to shine. Going back soon to checkout the restaurant-food and complete the wedding plans.

Last year I stayed at the Islander Inn in May with my husband. It was our first time staying at the hotel. We originally selected the Islander because during that time of year the hotel was offering the best rates in the area. We weren't expecting much apon arrival as we didn't pay that much for the room. All we wanted was an oceanfront hotel, we didn't plan on staying in the room much anyway so as long as the sheet were clean, we were happy.

What we found when we arrived far surpassed what we had imagined. The location was pefect...5 steps from the beach! The staff was great! The rooms were spotless! And the best part of it all was the FREE continental breakfast (and not your typical stale muffins and juice)...The Islander offered fresh fruit, 5 choices of cereals, bagles, english muffins, SAUSAGE BISCUITS and WAFFLES, fresh juice, yogurt, coffee, the list goes on...I think that I ate enough for me and my husband!

I had the best vacation and can't wait to return. We just booked a weekend at The Islander for the same week in May of this year and we are really looking forward to it. When we called to make our reservation, the hotel staff informed me that all of the rooms are now equipped with LCD flat screen tvs, and many other renovations/updates have been made to the hotel since our last visit. I am curious how they could have made this place better than it already was!

See you soon Islander Inn!

We loved the hotel. While we weren't able to get an oceanfront room, the room was still super...clean, very spacious. Staff was friendly and breakfast was great. The beach is literally in your front yard. We loved our stay and will come back. Highly recommended and very reasonable rates in September.

I booked this stay back in 2-2010 and the day we were to arrive Carla called me and said that due to the storm our room (the one we requested) had been damaged by the recent rains..She tried everything she could to help us out but couldn't work it out staying at the hotel..So they put us up in a condo instead we were a little afraid at first but once we got there we loved it..And I want to take time to say THANK YOU Carla for making our once a year vacation happen...we are making plans now for a return trip!!!

Dear dmoore21,

We once again apologize that you were not able to stay at our Inn upon your arrival; however, we are pleased to hear that you were equally as satisfied with your stay in the condo. Carla is such a great employee, we are lucky to have her. I will pass along your kind words to her. We look forward to seeing you again this year!

I found this place on the internet and thought we'd take a chance.....and boy, were we pleasantly suprised. The oceanfront location was beautiful!... the rooms were spacious and clean, and had the most comfortable bed. The grounds and pools were very well maintained....and the continental breakfast had many more selections than most hotels I've stayed in. The staff....from the lady who checked us in at the front desk, to the maids and all employees we met , were courteous and more than happy to help make our stay enjoyable. We had one small issue, and the general manager went out of her way to take care of it. We had a great time and will definitely return !!!

This was a very nice location, with a great beach. However the hotel itself needs some major updating and repairs. We had a couple serious safety issues in our room (deck railing on balcony was loose, and hair dryer was barely installed in wall and could have easily fallen into sink). The hand rail on the jacuzzi tub stairs next to the indoor pool was pretty loose and could have injured someone if they slipped. There were also many small repairs that were neglected - closet doors hanging lopsided, molding needed repair in elevator, etc etc. Also the mattresses must be incredibly old, they had absoltuely no support - I have never slept on such a mushy bed. Carpets in bad need of cleaning. Sorry but I would not recommend or stay at this hotel. Also, breakfast left a lot to be desired...

Dear Valued Guest
Let me start by saying that I am truly sorry your stay with us was not to your satisfaction.
It is my wish that every guest enjoy their time with us at the Inn. I do recall your dilemma with the hairdryer and apologize for any inconvenience you incurred as a result. If I remember correctly, one of our maintenance workers was immediately dispatched to your room to fix the hairdryer upon learning of the hairdryer matter. I only wish that we had been made aware of any other issues that troubled you during your stay. That would have allowed us to at least attempt to remedy the situation in any reasonable way. Just to let you know, any safety issues that may have needed to be addressed have been and we thank you for your concerns. I was also very sorry to hear that you did not like our luxury line Kingsdown mattresses and that you were not impressed with our breakfast offerings. Our complimentary breakfast consists of a variety of cereals, sausage biscuits, croissant sandwiches, self-made waffles, fresh fruit, oatmeal, danish, bagels, muffins, and yogurt. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience with us. We always value our customer’s feedback /suggestions and we take them very seriously.

Warm Regards,

Marnie Williamson

My husband and I originally made reservations in Myrtle Beach to celebrate our 15 year anniversary. When we checked into the hotel in Myrtle Beach we were horrified at how terrible the hotel room was. Needless to say that night I was searching high and low for a hotel in Ocean Isle where we could go to and enjoy our anniversary together. I was able to book last minute with the Islander Inn and we checked in the very next day. Our room was very clean and we were so happy to be able to relax and enjoy ourselves. We had a great view of the ocean. We really enjoyed sitting in the gazebo in the evening and the beach is so clean and not crowded. The hotel staff was so helpful and made reservations for us for our anniversary dinner that first night. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back in the future!
