This a wonderful place to stop during your trip !!

The staff was exceptionally knowledgeable and nice !!!

The museum is very well appointed, has several great video and nice exhibits.

Leave 1 -2 hours so that you can see and read everything. Also- leave a donation !! Its worth it.

“Excellent Museum”
Reviewed 22 March 2014

These folks did their research! They really have done a marvelous job with a such a small museum! This is a great choice for taking people who would like a good, quick history lesson, without spending all day indoors! Plan on about an hour, and be sure to listen to the music in the gift shop as they are local musicians, and if you like it, ask for it! We really appreciated that it was open in the off season--apparently it had just opened that day (20 March)!

“Big surprise in a small package”
Reviewed 21 November 2013

A lovely little museum packed with interesting things, lots of history, some unique memorabilia & trivia. Much more than anticipated when approaching. Very well done. Had about 1/2 hr before ferry departure & walked over to see. Such a nice surprise.

“Informative, charming.”
Reviewed 1 November 2013

Lovely museum just off the ferry. Packed full of information about island life and the history of the island. Nice gift shop and the woman operating the shop is very helpful and informative as well. I recommend watching the video about the brogue spoken by the native islanders, it is entertaining and enlightening.
