Owner description: A tiny museum that features the history of Blackbeard, the 18th-century pirate.

This museum offers a window into Ocracoke as it was in first half or so of the 1900's. There is an impressive collection of artifacts. It might not be too impressive for children reared on electronic gadgets, but it does not take too long to get through.

Definitely worth a stop. I always buy tickets for the quilt raffle.

There are some interesting tid bits about hurricanes and island language that was very interesting. It had some interesting information about weather and the island.
