“Great insight”
Reviewed 11 August 2012

We went to the storytelling. Had a great time. It was like setting on the back porch and catching up. Gave a great feel for the Ocracoke community.

“Just a glimpse of island life from the locals”
Reviewed 29 July 2012

The night my family of four went to the theater they had an all new show because their regular cast members were off at a festival elsewhere. The audience contained a wide range of ages from babies to seniors. We heard stories and music and a few jokes from local characters and their families. The audience got to join in on a few songs and sound effects. Overall it was decent fun for everyone and the best part was that we met several of the performers throughout the rest of our stay at their other jobs around the village.

“Enjoyable Evening for Everyone”
Reviewed 9 July 2012

Had such a great time at the Ocracoke Opry. This was my third time going and enjoyed another great show. Molasses Creek, the main musical group, were terrific. We were so lucky~ it happened to be a week a Donald Davis, a wonderful storyteller, was having a workshop and he told another great story the evening we happened to be there. Music, storytelling, Ocracoke history~ all in one show! Highly recommended.

“Quaint, Fun, Little Theater”
Reviewed 25 May 2012

No visit to Ocracoke is complete without a visit to the Deepwater Theater. Don't go expecting a Broadway experience, because you won't get that. What you will get is a casual, fun time with a variety of very talented local musicians, storytellers, and comedians. The theater only holds a few hundred people, so every performance is up close and personal.
